Kirk is getting this rig’s steering back under control with a steering box replacement.

The steering box transfers the movement of the steering wheel to the wheels, giving the driver control over the vehicle’s direction. Over time, internal gears and seals can wear out—especially under heavy use or the added stress of larger tires—causing loose steering, fluid leaks, wandering, or delayed response.

A new steering box restores tighter, more precise handling and gives the driver greater confidence for the next mountain climb.

Big tires and serious suspension only work when the steering geometry is dialed in.

Kirk walks through the modified steering setup on this Jeep Wrangler JL, checking the tie rod flip, drag link, track bar mount, sway bar clearance and hydraulic ram before putting it to the real test on the road.

Steering wheel straight. Components clear. Everything checks out. That’s how a proper build leaves the Adventure Offroad shop.
