Getting hooked up in a downpour! 🌧️

I’ve got my 16-foot enclosed trailer going out for three days. Whenever I can, I like to meet first-time customers, walk them through the trailer, and explain my check-in and check-out process. It helps make sure they’re comfortable and shows them how easy the contactless process can be for future rentals.

The rain came down hard today, but we got him hooked up, ready to go, and on his way. Another smooth start to a rental!

Quick fix before the next rental goes out! The metal prong in my seven-way plug kept getting pushed back, causing a bad connection. With a rental arriving in about 30 minutes, I’m swapping the plug out and getting it ready to roll. Sometimes it’s the little things that keep the day moving!

Quick repair win on the 18-foot car hauler! The trailer lights were working, but the right turn signal wasn’t.

After some troubleshooting, I found a couple of broken wires for another set of trailer lights and a loose connector with corrosion and grime. I cleaned it up, reconnected everything, and got the blinker working again. 🔧💡

Who’s driving this thing? They’ve gone about 50 yards down this tight little alley, backing up, pulling forward, backing up again—and they’ve been at it for 15 or 20 minutes. 😂

Robot, man, woman, or just someone taking the scenic route one foot at a time? What’s your guess? Tell me in the comments!

A little problem solving got this hydraulic pump back in business.

A customer brought my tilt trailer back because the deck wouldn’t lower. After digging into it, I found a few things going on: a leaking valve, debris inside the valve and a loose, broken wire at the solenoid. What first looked like one problem turned out to be several.

I replaced the solenoid stem valve, fixed the leak and rewired the solenoid connection. Now she’s back up and running.

The most important thing in the trailer rental business may shock you 😳

The most important part of the trailer rental business might surprise you…

It isn’t having the newest trailers.

It isn’t having the cheapest prices.

It’s setting clear expectations.

One of the first questions I ask every customer is, “What are you using the trailer for?”

If they’re tearing off a roof, doing demolition, or making trips to the dump, I let them know there’s a much higher chance of picking up nails or damaging a tire.

I’d rather have that conversation before the rental than an argument after the rental.

Clear communication prevents misunderstandings, protects the equipment, and creates a better experience for everyone.

I’ve learned after years in this business that setting the right expectations is one of the best forms of customer service.

Junk removal Guys !!

Cleaning out 1½ storage shipping containers packed FULL of heavy office furniture—desks, entertainment centers, filing cabinets… all the fun stuff. 😂

I brought my 24-foot utility trailer instead of the dump trailer because this job was about 45 minutes from home, and I didn’t want to make multiple trips.

The gamble paid off. We got just about EVERYTHING on one load.

The downside? No dump trailer means everything has to come back off. 😅 Thankfully, I brought the E26 excavator, which made dealing with the heavy stuff a whole lot easier.

💰 What would YOU charge for this job?

Drop your price in the comments. After I get a few estimates, I’ll tell you exactly what I charged—and why I priced it the way I did.
