READ ENTIRE POST!!!Here it is…the 2025 St Judes Shootout Event Shirt Design…since i moved the race up one week that cut us short a week on presale so with that said the presale ends APRIL 18th!! Shirts are being designed this week and i should have a proof by Friday as well so we will start presale on them as i have done the past 2 years. Ill do a Facebook Live like i did for PWRTN last year to go over everything for this event so be watching for that around mid April!! Lil Dega RC Dirt Oval to host Papa Willy’s Traxion Tonic Rubber Tire Nationals September 20-21, 2024

“Without the racers we don’t have racing”, states Scooter Allison of Papa Willy’s Traxion Tonic. “The goal of the Papa Willy’s Rubber Tire Nationals (PWRTN) is to offer a national event at an affordable entry fee that showcases our unique southeastern flair for dirt oval RC racing.
Jonathan “Beard” Robertson, owner of Lil Dega agrees. “When Scooter approached me about hosting the event I had two requests: first, we had to have a kids class and secondly entry fee would be $20 per class for adults with $10 for kids racing in the kids class. Other than that the only decisions were deciding which classes to offer for a national event and the best date for the show.”
The original date for the Papa Willy’s Rubber Tire Nationals was August 23-24. After evaluating the landscape of big dirt oval races in the country we decided to push the PWRTN to September 20 and 21st. “It’ll be a little cooler then too”, chuckles Robertson.
The classes offered for the Papa Willy’s Rubber Tire Nationals are classes that exemplify national event classes. Open Sprint, Open Latemodel and Open SC Mod; 10.5 (10° max boost, no turbo) MWM, 13.5 Justock Mudboss, 13.5 Justock Midget, Novice and Kids classes. “We feel it’s a great option to offer novice and kids classes even at a national event to give racers who are still honing their race craft an opportunity to compete successfully”, both Allison and Robertson agree.
Lil Dega RC Dirt Oval is located at 83 Dulaney Drive in Eastaboga, Alabama. The RC facility is just minutes from the famed NASCAR Talladega Superspeedway with a variety of sight seeing options for visitors to enjoy while in town. The track offers limited electrical hook ups (first come), trackside pitting (first come), Live RC scoring and camping.
“As Beard and I talked about this race one thing was perfectly clear”, explains Allison. “We both love racing and the racers. We want this to be an event the local (regional) racers are proud of and our national dirt oval family desire to attend!”

When i was asked about hosting this race,all i could ask Scooter was why my place?! Im honored to have this event at THE not so famous Lil Dega RC Dirt Oval🙏🏻🙏🏻. The race was originally scheduled for August 23rd-24th but being a week before The Crown Jewel race at Backyard,i figured it was smart to move this race so thats what happened😬. I really can't even articulate how much it means to us how many people showed up and supported us at the Mark Croom memorial race @ Rattlesnake Raceway. It was very apparent how much Mark Croom is missed in this hobby. I know he was looking down with a big smile on his face.

We had a few issues - track took some time to get right and nothing quite like an emergency loop replacement after dark. Thank you to everyone who jumped in and helped right away.

We had quite a bit of people ask about future races at the Snake - All I can say right now is that we are working on it ;)

HUGE SHOUTOUT to Lil Dega RC Dirt Oval and Jonathan Robertson for putting this on. Please go follow the Lil Dega page and make it out to a race!!! They are having the 2nd Annual St. Jude Shootout (100% back to the kids and families) May 11-12th. It would mean a lot to us if we could get a big crowd from North GA over there.

I was a bit quiet all night as it was just a lot to take in. Sorry if I didn't get to personally shake your hand, but I really do appreciate each and every one of you.
