Many of you have already heard about Honda Dan’s accident in Yellowstone and have been asking how you can help.
For those who don’t know Daniel Hansen, he’s one of the good ones.
He’s the guy who’s always willing to put on the miles, support a cause, and show up for people. Many of us have shared roads, stories, meals, campfires, and memories with him over the years. He’s also carried Ride With Purpose stickers all over this country, helping spread a little piece of Michigan wherever his travels took him.
Earlier this week, Dan was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Yellowstone. He suffered three fractured ribs, a punctured lung, a broken thumb requiring surgery, and significant road rash.
Now his daughter is facing a 3,200-mile round trip from Michigan to Montana to bring her dad, his motorcycle, and his trailer home. Because of his injuries, flying simply isn’t an option.
If you’ve ever wondered what makes the motorcycle community different, this is it.
We take care of our own.
Today, we’re asking the Michigan motorcycle community and everyone beyond it to rally around Honda Dan and his family. Recovery is going to take time. The trip home won’t be easy. There will be travel expenses, lodging costs, fuel, and medical bills waiting on the other side of this journey.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation. No amount is too small. If you can’t donate, please share this post and keep Dan and his family in your prayers.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that motorcycles bring people together, but it’s moments like this that remind us we’re more than riders.
We’re family.
Let’s help bring Honda Dan home.
