NO VACANCY — Luke 2:7
Daily Devotional: James Mcclellan
“And she brought forth her firstborn Son… and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”
— Book of Luke 2:7
Do I make room for Jesus when life is full?
“There was no room”—not because Jesus wasn’t important, but because the world was busy, crowded, distracted, and unaware.
That phrase still echoes today. People miss Him not out of hatred, but out of preoccupation.
God chose humility on purpose. Jesus—the King of Kings—wasn’t born in a palace or even a guest room. He was laid in a manger, a feeding trough. That wasn’t an accident.
From the start, God showed us this truth: He comes low to reach the low.
The manger points forward to the cross.
From birth to death, Jesus identifies with the poor, the rejected, and the overlooked. He didn’t just pass through humiliation—He stayed. This wasn’t a moment. It was a mission.
God still works in places that don’t look impressive. If Jesus was born there, He’s not afraid to meet us there too.
When It says " low," I’m not talking about social status.
I’m talking about heart posture—humility, surrender, openness.
Make Room Today!
Reflective Question:
Where has my life become too full to make room for Jesus—and what would it look like to clear space today?
Prayer
Lord Jesus,
Forgive me for the times my life is so full that there’s no room for You. Teach me to slow down and recognize You in the ordinary places of obedience. Help me make room—not just in words, but in how I live.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
