After cryogenically treating this # Eshaft we were afraid that it might have increased in size on some of the journals due to grain transformations that had happened on Billy Johnson build. So we took that shaft down to Bryant Racing crank shafts to be sure. Thankfully nothing moved! Which lends to the theory that older used crankshafts are much more metallurgically stable than the new stuff coming out of Mazda these days. And it’s not just Mazda. It’s all the marques that try to save money on their products. The nickel and dime production and just because you got a Ford crankshaft it doesn’t mean it’s meant to stand up to more horsepower than it came with originally. The game has changed.

Had to stop and take a nail out of the tires today. Must be the sixth nail on that set. We have on the X5 since a year back! But wanted to share the condition of the front and rear rotors that we installed 45k miles ago. Deep cryogenic treatment is a great way to save on ROTORS, PADS and of course LABOR.

You can drill all the holes and balance a crank on a CWT machine. You CANT CHANGE the inherent IMBALANCE that exists in heat treated metal that has hard and SOFT spots. BUT YOU CAN CHANGE THAT WITH Deep Cryogenic Processing.
