Real talk: how long would you put up with a broken AC in a Texas summer before you finally caved and got it fixed?

We ask because this Chevy is getting AC work today, and here is the part most folks never see. To reach the AC components up front, the whole front end has to come apart. Bumper, headlights, all of it. There is a lot more behind cold air than people realize.

If yours has been blowing warm and you have been “dealing with it,” do not white-knuckle your way through a Tomball June. Call us at 281-516-9400 and we will get you cold again.

Drop your answer below. We have heard some wild “I lasted the whole summer” stories.

A mystery rolled into the shop this morning.

This heavy molded case showed up today and we want to see who can call it before we crack it open. No hints. Just your gut.

What do you think is packed inside?

Drop your guess in the comments. We’ll reveal it once they start rolling in.

Up on the lift this morning: a Nissan truck getting a full front end suspension rebuild. Fresh shock going in, and the tired parts coming out while we’re in there.

Here’s the thing about a worn front end. It almost never just quits on you. It nags first. A clunk over a speed bump. Steering that drifts a little on the highway. A tire wearing thin on one edge for no obvious reason.

So tell us in the comments: what was the first sign your truck’s front end was getting tired? The noise, the feel behind the wheel, or the tire shop pointing it out?

Feeling something off up front? Give us a call at 281-516-9400 and we’ll get it on the lift.

MYTH: A funky shifter means your transmission is toast.

Not this time. This one rolled in from up north, and years of road salt had corroded the shift hardware. Transmission itself? Totally fine. The fix was way cheaper than the worry.

Texas transplants, this one’s for you: where did your car live before it got here? We can usually tell within 30 seconds of popping the hood.

This Ford Transit came in doing double duty: misfiring AND blowing warm air. 🔧

The owner gave the repairs a shot at home first. We get it, we love a hands-on customer. But after a weekend of wrenching, it landed in our bay.

Gauges are hooked up and we’re chasing the AC problem in the photo. Take a guess: what do you think we found in the system?

Drop your guess in the comments. Reveal coming once she’s blowing cold and back on the road.

Be honest with us. When was the last time anyone actually looked underneath your vehicle?

For most people the answer is “no clue.” But the underside is where a lot of trouble starts quietly. A slow leak, a worn bushing, a loose heat shield, all hiding out of sight until they turn into a real repair bill.

A quick look during routine maintenance catches that stuff early, and in this Texas heat, early always wins.

So how long has it been for you? Years? Never? No judgment here.

Got questions about your vehicle? Give us a call at 281-516-9400. We handle just about everything except tires and body work.

That’s a 1970 Chevelle SS 454 that rolled under our canopy this week.

The owner had us set it up with air ride, so he can settle it into a clean stance and still air it up to clear the driveways and speed bumps on the way home.

Most truck owners say true. Physics says otherwise.

🔧 Guess the problem

This Toyota Highlander came in because the AC wasn’t blowing cold. We’ve got it on the machine now, recovering the system to track down where it went wrong.

Before we post what we found, what’s your guess? Bad compressor? A leak somewhere? Something sneakier?

Drop your diagnosis in the comments and we’ll reveal the verdict.

Your cooling system is the only thing standing between your engine and a Texas summer.

This Nissan Titan rolled in with just over 200,000 miles and left with a new radiator and thermostat, fresh and ready before the heat really sets in. Smart timing. Both are wear items, and at this kind of mileage they’ve earned their retirement.

The radiator is what sheds all that engine heat, and over time the internal passages corrode and clog, so it just can’t move heat like it used to. The thermostat controls when coolant flows. When it sticks shut, temps climb fast. When it sticks open, your engine never warms up the way it should.

Add in stop-and-go traffic on a 100 degree afternoon, when there’s no airflow through the grille, and a tired cooling system can leave you stranded on the side of 249.

Worth keeping an eye on: a temp gauge creeping higher than usual or coolant that keeps dropping. Caught early, it’s a routine service. Ignored, it can turn into a warped head or blown gasket.

When’s the last time you had your cooling system looked at?
