Paint/Prep Technician

The Paint Prep Technician plays a vital role in our refinishing process. You’ll be responsible for preparing vehicles for paint applications by sanding, masking, cleaning, and priming surfaces. Your attention to detail will directly impact on the final finish and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
-Sand, feather, and mask vehicle panels in preparation for painting.
-Clean and degrease surfaces to ensure proper adhesion.
-Assist painters in mixing paint and maintaining equipment.
-Keep the prep station clean and organized.
Perform final quality checks prior to painting.
-Communicate effectively with painters and body techs to ensure a smooth workflow.
-Follow safety procedures and use PPE as required.

Qualifications

Required:
-Strong work ethic and attention to detail
-Willingness to learn and follow instructions
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
-Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Preferred:
-1+ years of experience in painting prep or auto body repair
-Familiarity with sanding, taping, masking, and priming techniques
-Experience with hand tools and basic power tools
-Knowledge of painting prep materials (e.g., sandpaper grits, masking paper, solvents)
