🚨 Paul’s Transmissions will be CLOSED from 9/25–10/5. 🚨

We have a few vehicles currently here at the shop that David will be working hard to complete by end of day Thursday, 9/24. If we’re unable to get them completed by then, they will be completed in October.

During that time, I will still be answering the phone at 682-712-2087, so please don’t hesitate to reach out!

I’ll also be contacting each customer whose vehicle is currently here to let them know whether their vehicle has been completed or will be completed when we open back up.

68RFE getting the treatment it should have had from the factory. This one is being built for strength, reliability, better clutch holding capacity, and improved hydraulic control—not just thrown together with stock replacement parts.

We’re using proven upgrades including a TransGo RF-HP-19UP high-pressure reprogramming kit, upgraded overdrive pressure plate, solenoid switch valve repair, quality friction components, and the necessary internal updates while everything is apart.

Every transmission gets completely torn down, inspected, cleaned, measured, and assembled in-house. No shortcuts and no guessing. Whether your 6.7 Cummins is a daily driver, tow rig, or has added power, we can build the 68RFE around how you actually use the truck.

Flushing the transmission cooler is critical anytime a transmission is rebuilt or replaced. When a transmission fails, the cooler and lines can trap clutch material, metal, and burnt fluid. If that debris isn’t removed, it can get pumped straight into the fresh transmission and damage the valve body, solenoids, pump, torque converter, and new clutches.
A proper cooler flush also makes sure the cooler has good flow. A partially restricted cooler can cause high transmission temperatures, and heat is one of the biggest killers of an automatic transmission.
Bottom line: installing a fresh transmission without properly flushing and flow-checking the cooler system can ruin a good rebuild.
