If you're paying for a major repair, it should be performed correctly the first time. Things happen of course but when shortcuts are taken expect shortcut results.

This 2017 Ford F-250 came to Empire Automotive after having the upper oil pan resealed TWICE at another shop. (Don’t know what shop and would not share either way just concerned with sharing what fixed it) It was still leaking oil. After a thorough inspection, we found the real culprit: the rear main seal.

Yes, it's possible to remove the upper oil pan by lifting the cab a few inches, supporting the engine with a hoist, and sneaking the pan out without removing the transmission. But in our opinion, that shortcut doesn't make sense. You can't properly inspect or replace the rear engine cover gasket or rear main seal, which are common leak points while you're already in there.

That's why every upper oil pan reseal at Empire Automotive includes:
✅ Upper oil pan inspection
✅ Updated gasket installation (instead of silicone)
✅ Brand-new lower oil pan
✅ Flywheel inspection and replacement if excessive starter ring gear wear is found
✅ New rear engine cover gasket
✅ New rear main seal
✅ 2023+ style oil separator upgrade
✅ New OEM oil cooler or a properly flushed cooler, depending on condition
✅ New oil filter housing adapter gaskets
✅ Fresh engine oil and filter
✅ New O-rings on coolant lines or replacement of any oil-damaged lines

This isn't an inexpensive repair, and it shouldn't be. Professional pricing should deliver professional results.

This F-250 is now completely oil leak-free and is leaving with a DCR conversion, along with engine and transmission tuning.

6.7 Powerstroke… P0016… what is it? It is a cam crank correlation code. Meaning the engine timing is off. The usual cause of this code is the factory press-fit crankshaft timing gear slipping on the crankshaft. If that gear isn't permanently secured with a weld there is a risk of it slipping when adding power to these trucks.
That's why we recommend welding the crank gear during or before a P0016 repair. It permanently locks the gear in place, helps maintain accurate engine timing, and eliminates the problem.
It's one of those repairs that takes a little extra time now but can save a major headache (and another teardown) later. A 360 weld isn’t necessary in most cases. Typically it’ll be 4 smaller tig welds. This particular engine is a high horsepower build.
