Made some custom FJ80 rear upper links. 1.25” longer than stock. Center section is 1” round cold rolled bar. These use the 5th gen 4Runner rear poly bushings Strongflex in Europe makes for us with a different center sleeve.

I worked on the Ftoy recently. It sort of took a backseat to the FJ40. But I’m back on it again. Installed the rear Radflo shocks I bought back in 2017. Better late than never. 🤷‍♂️

Added the accessories to the motor. Brackets were from a 71-72 Camaro. Alternator and Power Steering.

The Chevy 350 for my FJ40 is back from the machine shop. The 2 blocks I had from the 1970’s were both cracked. The 71-72 Camaro cast iron heads I had were cracked. So I went with a brand new block from Summit Racing. It was cast in Germany and machined in the US. 2 piece rear main. New aluminum high flow heads, new pistons. Holley high ram EFI. What was re-used from the old engines was the crank from the 1973 square body motor and the rods from the 71-72 Camaro engine. The Camaro engine gave me all the brackets for the power steering and the alternator. Oh yeah it has roller lifters and a roller cam. The best a 1995 SB350 had to offer with a 2 piece crank so I can just bolt up the SM420 transmission. Machine shop was S&S in Mesa, Arizona. And thanks to my son Matthew for all the help!

Picked up a Chevy 350 V8 engine. I’m going to rebuild it and put it in the FJ40 with the Holley sniper 2 EFI. Block is from a 1973 Chevy K10/20, C10/20. Will go perfect with the Military surplus brand new Mighty Might SM420 and a 1972 FJ40 transfer case I will rebuild. Current F engine is tired and cannot go past 2900 rpm’s.
