McLaren 570S in for an oil pump replacement which is a known failure point on these.

In this case, we caught it early. Before any engine damage. That's the difference between a planned repair and a much bigger bill.

It's an extensive job, but we're set up for it. We have a full McLaren OEM repair manual and the OEM scan tool specific to these cars, not a generic reader guessing at the platform.

Lamborghini Urus on the lift - EA825 4.0L, an engine that shows up across several other Volkswagen Group platforms too.

The trigger is almost always the same: a check engine light for turbo underboost. That means the wastegate actuators are clogged and the reason is coolant getting where it shouldn't.

Root cause: the water pump has an internal sleeve controlled by engine vacuum. When it fails, coolant migrates into the vacuum harness and takes the wastegate actuators down with it.

Today's job: full water pump replacement plus the entire vacuum system . So every line, every solenoid is done together, since it's almost always the same failure showing up twice.

While it was open, we also found the oil filter housing leaking which is a second common failure point on these, visible right on the front of the engine. Left alone, that's more than just a service item.

Two known failure points, but the customer leaves with one less thing to worry about.

Two G87 M2s in the shop this week, both manual - rare pairing these days. Yellow DRLs on both: swaps the stock look for the snake-eye signature that's taken over the new BMW styling.

The real mod is underneath. Oil cooler guard - not cosmetic, not optional. On any S58, even the S55, skip it and you're one rock strike away from a cracked cooler and a dead motor.

Running an S58 without one? Let's fix that.

Sitting in the bay today: the glorious five-cylinder DAZA - better than anything BMW's ever built, no notes.

Simple day for it: spark plugs, throttle body service, oil change. Running right again.

M4 came in for a hissing sound - PCV concern. Found the internal PCV built into the valve cover itself, which is where the shortcut usually happens: cut the old cap off, glue in a replacement, call it done.

That fix doesn't last. It'll fail again and you're back in the shop for the same job. We did the whole valve cover - OEM, OEM gaskets.. high quality, fixed once. That’s the Eurocomp standard every single time.
