We have a term of endearment that we say in the RV Business. When addressing the sealants around your fixtures on top of the roof, "Only a moron puts more on..." You really should remove all of the sealants before applying more. See the picture below. Otherwise, you are wasting your time and money. But by all means, ignore this advise. It keeps me busy repairing roofs...
