Got a message from a local film company, Trispect Films...

"We are doing a short film for the Tehachapi Museum in April and are looking for 2-3 vintage vehicles to use in the film. We are looking for any cars (and they do not have to be pristine) from 1948-1952. The short film takes place in 1952 so nothing older than that. If you or anyone you know might want to help us out please reach out here."

Sounds fun. We'll be sure to get you in touch with them!

Here's a loving tribute to a dear member of the Rumble family. Tom will be missed!

We realize this obituary is long overdue. On behalf of Youngblood Customs and the Youngblood Family, we want to thank YC employees, customers, and friends for your support through these challenging times.

On October 15, 2021, Thomas Eli Youngblood Jr., father of three children, transitioned on after 63 years. Please remember Toms family in your prayers. Services are still in the planning stages and will be announced.

Tom was born on December 31, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois to Bertha Belle and Thomas Eli Youngblood Sr. He is survived by his three children, Karlie Youngblood, Nicolas Youngblood and Wade Youngblood, his step-daughter Rachel Yoder, his sister Joan Youngblood and his brother Kenneth Youngblood.

Tom grew up in Skokie, Illinois. As a young man, He was a 2x State Champ in High School competitive speed swimming and diving. He put himself through the art program at the University of Chicago, by working at a service station. The combination became immortal. He migrated to California in 1984 and to Tehachapi in 1994. As an entrepreneur and self creator, Tom built Youngblood Customs, a custom car and hot rod fabrication company. Due to his creative automotive skill and masterful artistry, Tom became renown within the industry and abroad for his one-of-a kind restorations, customizations and original works of art. Tom was an active contributor to the community and was loved and respected by many. He is dearly missed.

Here's another note from a longtime Rumble family member....

Dear Rumble Team,
I know you are disappointed, as well as all participants are sure to be. My favorite car show memories are of the T Town Rumble.
Tho we moved to Arizona 4 years ago, I have missed your show and the fun and pleasant surroundings.
Best of luck to you and all who helped put on the “Best Car Show Anywhere”.

Here are some of those encouraging words...

This news breaks my heart. As you well know, except for one year (when Ed Iskanderian' s 95th birthday party conflicted with the Rumble.) In retrospect, I should have come because we will be celebrating Ed's 100th birthday on July 10th! It has always been at the top of my list of great shows, not the biggest, but absolutely one of the greatest! In all sincerity, thanks to you and your crew for so so many wonderful shows and great memories. I will wait, reluctantly, for the next show. Your friend in hot rods and Christ...

Since announcing that there will not be a 2021 T-Town Rumble, there has been an outpouring of emails, texts and calls. Thank you all for the encouraging words.

When we started the Rumble way back when, we hoped that it would be a real car show that ministered to the car showing community, not just another fund raiser. We hope that we have been successful. God has used the Rumble to bless Heritage Oak School and the Rumble Team. We hope that all who have been a part of the Rumble family have been blessed as well.

Over the next few days we will be sharing (anonymously) some of your texts and emails. If you'd care to share a Rumble memory, please do!
