SEMA Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) Member Spotlight - Q & A with IDIDIT! IDIDIT is a very familiar name in the Hot Rod world, and a long-time HRIA member and industry supporter. We had a minute to chat with IDIDIT President and GM Trever Cornwell to catch up with the latest news from IDIDIT, including their big anniversary in 2026!

Q: When was IDIDIT founded?
1986 - We are preparing to celebrate our 40 year anniversary in 2026. We are planning something special to commemorate our 40th year at our annual car show in August 2026.

Q: What is on the agenda for IDIDIT for 2026?
We have several new products under development and continuing to modernize our manufacturing processes to meet demand. We recently launched a billet multifunction switch that allows us to build retrofit columns compatible with 1980s through early 90s vehicles. That opens up a lot of applications and possibilities for us, especially as popularity of those vehicles grow. It’s also adds a more custom aesthetic to the steering column which is typical of IDIDIT’s product offerings.

Q: How has the IDIDIT product line evolved?
IDIDIT started out building universal tilt steering columns for the Hot Rod industry and that still remains a large share of our business. The product has evolved and gotten better over the years as we’ve refined the product and purchased our own tooling to improve what was originally available in vehicles. In recent years we continue to see a lot of growth in our retrofit columns where people want to bolt a product directly into a vehicle. There has also been growth in electric power steering and we have several retrofit applications already available and under development. We have also ventured into lightweight columns and quick release steering disconnects for the performance market.
