1978 PONTIAC TRANS AM - "W72 400 ci V8 & 4 speed MANUAL" in its beautiful MAYAN RED, BLACK INTERIOR and ONLY 72,990 original miles (TMU)..

This is the one folks... ordered with the "W72 Performance Pckg" ie a 400 4-SPEED CAR (WC Coe Stamped Block) that you have been looking for and boy is it hot (400/M21 4-Speed car, meaning it is just one of 6,777 produced)!! One of the best sounding TA'S we've had yet with a solid RUST FREE body in it beautiful ORIGINAL BORN COLOR of Mayan Red and a interior that is in amazing condition as well. P/S, P/B and a hot heater is of the few options it was ordered with and has a aftermarket radio that currently is not working. The bottom side is very nice, has had a high dollar exhaust done, sounds like it may have been lightly modified but has been done right. Paint is in very nice condition and shines like new.

Here is what we have been told about the cars history:

"On November 8, 1977, Chester F. Grochoski, Jr., a business owner, purchased this car new from Orson E. Coe Pontiac, Inc. in Grand Rapids, MI with just 5 miles recorded on the odometer, as stated on the warranty booklet. The car has stayed in Michigan since and has recently been the recipient of a restoration which was started in 2010 and since finished, only 370 miles have been recorded. According to the build sheet and matching data tag, the car came from the factory in Mayan Red (code 75) paint over a Black Oxen (code 19R). Other noteworthy codes include JL2 Power Brakes, L78 V8 400 4BBL, M21 4-Speed Transmission, WS4 Trans Am, and W72 Performance Package. All engine, tr**ny, axel, etc. components are numbers matching and were preserved in the restoration. It also had a little giddy-up added. Extensive machine work was done. The motor was professionally CNC Ported and Polished with Competition Cam and Lifters, Performance Rollers, and Custom Exhaust installed."

If you are looking for a iconic 70's TA then this one is worth a serious look! We have had this to our Service Center so it is freshly inspected, serviced and also new belts. They only come around this nice and solid once in awhile and here is another example. 55,843 ORIGINAL MILES! - 1978 CHEVY CAMARO "LT" - 350ci with a fairly rare FACTROY 4-SPEED MANUAL TRANS and low original miles FULL OF ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATION!!

FACTORY BUILD SHEET, ORIGININAL DEALER INVOICE, ORIGINAL WARRANTY BOOKLET, ORIGINAL FACTORY MANUALS & FACTORY WINDOW STICKER!!! The factory Carmine Custom Sport Bucket Seat interior is almost AS NEW and the best condition we have seen with this age and EVERTYTHING WORKS AS IT SHOULD. A 4-speed was not common on the LT as they were geared toward the luxury sport line and mostly came with automatic transmissions so not common to see amungst the "LT" line for sure. The exterior has alot of what looks to be original paint with typical wear/use for this age and the front urethane is showing its typical fade but this is a solid, rust free well kept example for sure. AND, IT RUNS AND DRIVES AS IF IT WAS A 2 YEAR OLD CAR - WE STAKE OUR REPUTATION ON THIS, it is that nice mechanically!!

As with all our Classic Cars it has been down the highway several miles, has been to our Service Center and mechanically inspected where it received a fresh service and passed with flying colors. There are also receipts in the binder showing the transmission has been gone through, re-sealed and a clutch replaced not many miles ago but in 2023. This car is for all practical purposes a SS car without banging!! FRAME OFF RESTORATION HERE FOLKS - A PIC FILE OF ENTIRE RESTO INCLUDED WITH SALE AS WELL AS SOME DOCUEMENTATION!!

Frame was sand blasted, powder coated and a ground up restoration (SEE PICS AT END OF GALLERY)! If you look at the underbody shots you can see the degree of this build and a beautiful interior as well it really gets the looks! This car drives like it was new after all the incredible work that has been put into this ride and is it a blast to drive! Pics will be included showing specs on the motor however the owner did not keep a lot of the records during its restoration unfortunately however the car speaks for itself. It has a single stage paint that presents nicely but is not a award winning $20k job however the rest of this car would be in the no expense spared category for sure!
