This one was a little different from our usual detailing projects!

We recently had the opportunity to machine polish this MASSIVE vintage Skelly truck stop sign, bringing back its original shine and vibrant colors.

What makes this project even cooler? We found an old postcard showing this iconic Skelly sign at Holger Anderson’s Truck Stop right here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota!

It's not every day you get to put your hands on a piece of local automotive and trucking history like this.

Here's a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado which a repeat customer brought in for the "Winter Protection Package". This included a thorough wash, clay bar treatment, Iron removal/decontamination, interior and exterior detailing, and paint sealant. 🇺🇸 1966 Corvette Stingray, Bringing Back the Beauty!

This gorgeous ’66 Corvette Stingray came to O’Riley Custom Detailing showing years of oxidation and dullness that had taken away from that classic Corvette finish.

We gave the paint a thorough polishing to remove years of oxidation and bring back the depth, gloss, and shine it deserves. We also completed a full interior detail along with a quick engine bay cleanup to freshen up the entire car.

The goal with a classic like this isn’t to change it — it’s to properly maintain and preserve the beauty that made it special in the first place.

There’s just something about bringing an iconic piece of American automotive history back to life. 🇺🇸🏁

😬 Garage accident → nearly invisible repair!

This beautiful 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS had an unfortunate run-in with a bed frame in the garage, leaving a deep scratch in the paint.

Rather than jumping straight to repainting the panel, we took a much more precise approach to preserve as much of the existing finish as possible.

The repair involved multiple carefully applied layers of color-matched touch-up paint, followed by clear coat. Once everything was properly built up and cured, the area was carefully sanded, leveled, compounded and polished to blend the repair into the surrounding finish.

The goal wasn’t to hide it with a quick touch-up — it was to make that scratch as close to invisible as possible.

🔥 11 YEARS AFTER RESTORATION… LOOK AT THAT FINISH. 🔥

This stunning 1957 Chevrolet was restored and painted approximately 11 years ago by Straightlines in Tea, SD — and that beautiful paint deserved to look its best again.

Over the years, normal washing and use had left behind swirl marks, scratches and imperfections that were taking away from the depth and clarity of the finish.

That's where we came in.

We put a tremendous amount of time into the paint correction on this Chevy, carefully working the finish to remove and reduce those imperfections and bring back the deep, crisp reflections you see in this video.

Then we protected all that correction work with System X Phantom Ceramic Coating for incredible gloss, slickness and long-term protection.

This beautiful ’66 Pontiac Tempest came to O’Riley Custom Detailing needing some serious attention to the paint.

We carefully removed unwanted overspray, then performed a paint correction to restore the depth, clarity and gloss this classic deserves. Once the finish was dialed in, we protected it with our 9-month ceramic sealant to help preserve that shine and make future maintenance easier.
