Rebuilding another 3.4 M 96. This engine came in with the coolant & oil intermix. This was the classic cylinder head crack. I’m not sure who worked on this before we got to it, but there was about 5 pounds of silicone wrapped around the engine, including a piece of cardboard to stop the leaks around the front main seal.

We’ve cleaned it up and completely rebuilt, the engine with new valves, piston rings, rod bearings, main bearings, chains, tensioners,etc.

It should be a good strong leak free engine when we’re done!

Rebuilding another M96 3.4. I don’t know who worked on it before we got it, but there was cardboard in about 5 pounds of silicone wrapped all the way around this engine. We’ve got it cleaned up refreshed with all new bearings, chains bolts, tensioners, etc. etc. etc..

This week at the Lab we disassembled and diagnosed an erratic coolant consumption issue on 2004 Porsche 996 3.6 race car. After careful diagnosis we found 1 intake valve port runner with hairline crack between the coolant jacket in head. Difficult to find source as all exhaust is distributed through all 4-6 headers and no white smoke present and car was actually running fairly well.

This week at the Lab we have some American icon history. 1970 Shelby GT350 that looks like it just rolled off the line. She is getting some engine love and mechanically restored to her glory days.

My girlfriend made these Christmas Tree ornaments with my Porsche GT3 race car. She said she can make them for other people’s motorcycles, car, boat , race cars, etc for $25 for 2. She made extras for me to attach as gift tags too.
