67 CHEVY CORVETTE A/C HEATER BOX

Just wrapped up on this rebuild of a 67 Corvette a/c heater box.

The entire unit has been disassembled and the fiberglass has been repaired and refinished as needed. All metal and plastic pieces have been refinished as needed, leaving only some minor imperfections typical of a part of its age. A NEW HONEYCOMB/WAFFLE/COPPER heater coil has been installed. Inner door seals have been replaced. The linkage works correctly. The mounting studs were cleaned or replaced as needed, including new nuts. NEW replacement master and vacuum switches have been installed. Ready to be installed & used.

67 CHEVY CORVETTE A/C EVAPORATOR UNIT

Just wrapped up on this rebuild of a 67 Corvette evaporator unit.

REBUILD INCLUDES:

NEW EVAPORATOR.

REFINISHED evaporator housing w/minor imperfections.

NEW REPLACEMENT expansion valve that looks different than the original.

NEW BILLET POA Eliminator Valve, designed like the original Frigidaire version. Much more reliable than the original POA valve, it converts the air-conditioning system to cycle the compressor clutch on/off via the pressure switch, rather than leave the compressor on all the time. Can be used with R12 or 134a.

ORIGINAL blower motor, date coded 12-66 that has been cleaned & tested (running for over 4 hours). Includes an original wheel w/good original blower motor vent tube & mount.

NEW blower resistor.

NEW internal insulation. The original evaporator tube seals are in good condition.

DALE B's 1966 OLDS 442 A/C HEATER BOX (2 of 2)

This unit was in pretty bad condition with some missing parts.

The entire unit was dismantled to repair a fair amount of fiberglass damage. Once the fiberglass repairs were made to the outer portion of the unit, it was refinished and new gaskets were installed on the mode door. The inner housing was bead-blasted and painted, and a new aluminum heater coil was installed. Linkage from a parts unit was installed.

Back at it trying to get my 68 Firebird road worthy again. I've owned this for almost 40 years and this might be the first time in at least 10 years this car has been running. Planning on upgrading the alternator, next. Also working on wrappping up the interior, and will be posting more videos over the next few days.

The biggest flaw in my car is the nut holding the steering wheel!
