Started setting the motor in place today... I had to cut out the factory 620 torsion rod crossmember in order to get the rear of the transmission tailshaft low enough. I am mocking it with the VK56DE automatic transmission for now. I will be changing it out for a 370Z 6-spd (CD00A) transmission later. For now, it is engine mount mock-up time...
I was able to set the motor down a LOT lower than I originally thought...

ISR Performance!!!! We sell a lot of their products. They make high-quality suspension components for several of the Nissan chassis. We are using their front S13 strut brace system with their adjustable front tension rods....
We are also using their complete 350Z rear adjustable suspension kits. We are deleting the stock spring bucket rear control arms. The Tein struts we had custom made by Tein-USA will work perfectly with these ISR Performance parts....

Close up pics of the suspension removal process... this is more work than you might think. I went through about 20 - 5" cut-off discs and 10 - 36-grit flapped discs on grinders.... but I got the frame stripped of all non-essential brackets so I could make my own mounts for the S13 front subframe.

Ok... so to mount the rear IRS 350Z subframe I bought (4) - 20mm x 1.5 fine thread bolt that are 170mm long. I am using 1/4" steel plate. I drilled 21mm holes in the plate. I welded the 20mm bolt heads to the 1/4" plates. I then used 2.5" x 2.5" square tube and cut them to align with the stock frame.
Once these tubes were made I then trimmed the 1/4" plates to fit tightly inside the 2.5" tubes. Then welded them together.
Once the subframe is 100% in place, I will weld them to the 620 frame.
Getting the subframe square to the chassis is SUPER CRITICAL... Lots of measuring. Height is also critical. I will share the actual #'s later. Here's what my mounts look like.
