⚠️ Factory Matte/Satin Paint Is Different. Treat It Different. ⚠️

This Aston Martin isn’t wrapped.

It isn’t satin PPF.

It isn’t a matte vinyl conversion.

This is factory matte/satin paint, and that means the rules change.

The biggest mistake owners make? Treating matte paint like traditional gloss paint.

❌ No polishing
❌ No compounding
❌ No paint correction
❌ No chasing swirl marks

Once the finish is altered, the matte effect can become permanently uneven or shiny. Unlike gloss paint, you can’t simply polish defects away later.

That’s why protection becomes so important.

Black Wheels Look Incredible… Until They Don’t. 👀

A few weeks ago we refinished these wheels. This morning we returned to add our Wheel Face Coating package to help keep them looking their best.

A wheel coating won’t stop curb rash.
A wheel coating won’t prevent someone from introducing your wheel to a concrete parking block.

What it will do is help protect the finish from the constant assault of brake dust, road grime, UV exposure, and contaminants that slowly turn black wheels into dull gray wheels.

The real win isn’t cleaning four vehicles this morning.

It’s earning enough trust that one client tells their neighbor, and then that neighbor becomes a client too.

7:00 AM start.
Two vehicles at the first home.
9:00 AM appointment next door.

Instead of driving across town, I simply picked up my buckets and walked to the next driveway.

A neighbor walked by during the appointment, thought the car belonged to me, and before I could fully explain myself, he ended up leaving with a business card. 😂

Two weeks ago we announced a major system update.

Today, I wanted to give everyone a quick behind-the-scenes update.

After bringing the system back online, we were handed a 10-phase recommendation list focused on improving the client experience from start to finish.

Since then, we’ve been spending our evenings working through that list one step at a time.

What’s been interesting is seeing how many of those recommendations mirror feedback we’ve received directly from clients. If you’ve ever reached out with thoughts on the booking process, there’s a good chance your voice helped shape some of these changes.

We’re currently working through Phase 2 of 10, which should tell you just how extensive this update really is.

Over the next week or so, we’ll begin releasing a full walkthrough of the client experience using a mock account so everyone can see exactly how booking, approvals, invoices, and communication work on your side.

Big Update

SMS communication improvements should also be completed around that time for both existing clients and new clients.

When I say this update was big…

I mean HUGE. 😆

Until then, our text line remains fully operational.

Cleaning got us here. Polishing took it further.

I had a battle with years of accumulated brake dust, iron deposits, and staining.

Step one was a traditional wheel cleaning:
✔️ Wheel cleaner
✔️ Iron remover
✔️ Degreaser
✔️ Agitation and rinse

That process removed the contamination that could be cleaned.

Once I saw what remained, I spoke with the owner and recommended a simple Wheel Face Polishing Add-On.

The difference?

The wheel didn’t just get cleaner.

It got brighter.

A lot of people assume wheel restoration starts with replacing wheels. Most of the time, it starts with understanding the difference between contamination, staining, and damage.

In this case, a traditional cleaning followed by wheel face polishing was the right move.

People often ask what an ideal maintainer client looks like.

It’s not necessarily the newest vehicle.
It’s not the most expensive vehicle.

It’s trust.

I’ve been cleaning Jay’s vehicles since he moved to Tampa.

This Lexus RC-F has been through two different wraps, countless washes, Florida summers, road trips, and monthly maintenance visits.

At this point, we’re the only detailers who have touched it.

Matter of fact, he’s been with us long enough to still have a bottle of the old 656 Auto Spa & Supply Wrap Conditioner tucked away somewhere. We haven’t pushed chemicals in over four years. 😂

The process today looked something like this:

The funny part?

I might see Jay once before the end of the year.

And honestly, that’s the goal.
