Single monitor guys, your virtual mirror can show you WAY more than you think it does.

Quick iRacing tip: if you're driving on one screen, your rearview mirror is probably hiding cars that are right next to you.

Go into your black box, down in the bottom right, and crank up the Virtual Mirror FOV. Watch what happens: now you can actually see cars almost the moment they pull up beside you instead of finding out the hard way.

I race on a single monitor myself and I use this setting constantly. Give it a minute to feel normal, cars will look a bit farther away than they really are, especially behind you, but the awareness you get back is worth it.

Brad Gutierrez started 24th in the ISRL Dunder Mifflin 200 at Kansas. While the field wrecked around him, he drove the Academy #84 to the front and led the restart, and the booth called him the biggest mover of the night. He came home 3rd after a one lap shootout. That's Brad on our rig in the corner cam. Could you have held them off on the last restart?

Season finale under the lights at Phillip Island. Alex Joseph takes the win, Nathanael Stains takes the Pro title.

The last round of Thursday Night Lights ran into the night: a four-car fight for the lead early, Quinn Fairbrother spinning in his own smoke, a big move from Quinn, and Nate going off late. Alex Joseph led it home.

Road America in the rain. Nobody could see a thing, and it showed.

Race 5 of 6 in Thursday Night Lights, Porsche Cup cars at Road America on a full wet track.
Contact in the spray, a car spinning backwards down the straight, trips through the gravel, and
a fight for the lead that went side by side for most of the night until one of them ended up in
the wall.

The sims in our lounge run on $800 to $1200 PCs. Not $4,000 ones.

I get asked constantly whether we must have insane computers to run these sims. We do not, and I can tell you exactly what is in them because people pay to sit at them every week.

Most of our machines are $800 to $1200. They push 49 inch monitors at well over 144 FPS, mostly on 3060s. If you are running triples you want a bit more, usually a 3070 or 3080, but even then you do not need anywhere near what people think.

The fear I hear most is from people coming off console. They think moving to PC means a $2,000, $4,000, or $6,000 machine. It really is not the case.

And you get so much more than a sim rig out of it. Access to basically every real sim title, a ton of modding, plus it is an actual computer at the end of the day. Other games, and real work on top of it.

My honest recommendation: look at refurbished machines, especially on Newegg and Amazon. You will get far more for the money than buying new.
