Car Won’t Start? Here Are a Few Things to Check Before Calling a Tow Truck.

We've all been there. You get in your car, turn the key, and nothing happens. Before calling a tow truck, there are a few simple things you can check:
First, check your battery. If your lights are dim or you hear rapid clicking when trying to start the vehicle, you may have a weak or dead battery. Take a look at your battery terminals, loose connections or corrosion can sometimes keep your vehicle from starting. If your lights and accessories work but the engine won't turn over, you could be dealing with a starter or electrical issue.

Pay attention to what the vehicle is doing. Does it click once, click repeatedly, crank without starting, or do absolutely nothing? These details can help narrow down the problem.

If you've tried the basics and still can't get it running, it's probably time to bring it in to us for further diagnoses. Continuing to crank the engine repeatedly can sometimes make matters worse!

🌀 HURRICANE CLOSURE NOTICE 🌀

Due to the approaching hurricane and potential severe weather conditions, D.T.’s Garage will be closed as a precautionary measure tomorrow, 10/9/2026.

The safety of our customers, employees, and their families is our top priority. We would never want anyone to put themselves at risk traveling in unsafe conditions.

We are tentatively planning to reopen on Monday, weather and conditions permitting. We are praying that our community makes it through the storm safely and that everyone, including our shop, is spared from any significant damage.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this time. Please take the necessary precautions, stay safe, and look out for one another.
