Some cars test your patience. The good ones test your knowledge.

Will is working on a 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Sport Sedan, and it is a different kind of automotive puzzle. The information you need may not be sitting one click away, and the replacement part you need may not be sitting on a shelf either.

That is where experience matters.

Older vehicles can require a combination of careful research, mechanical intuition, and a willingness to dig through information the old-fashioned way. Sometimes that means reaching for a physical manual instead of a search engine and tracing a wiring diagram with a pen instead of pulling up a digital schematic.

The payoff? Keeping a piece of automotive history on the road.

Performance cars are built to be pushed, but they only perform their best when the foundation is built to handle it.

That's exactly what Jeff is focused on with this engine build. Every measurement, every bearing, and every component is carefully inspected because reliability matters just as much as performance.

It's also why people are often surprised by what an engine rebuild actually involves. Rather than simply replacing what's broken, the goal is to restore the engine from the inside out, making sure every critical part works together exactly as intended.

For a performance car, that extra attention to detail means more confidence when it's time to enjoy every mile, whether it's on the road or at the track.

Our biggest social media star doesn't know he's famous.

You've seen Duke pop up in plenty of our videos, but today we're sharing the story behind the wagging tail.

Duke joined the Bristow's family after being rescued, and ever since, he's made it his mission to welcome every customer who walks through our doors. While our technicians take care of your vehicle, Duke takes care of the first impression.

He's proof that sometimes the best team members don't need a toolbox to make a difference.

Around here, a visit to the shop isn't complete without saying hello.

Next time you're in Tacoma, stop by and introduce yourself to Duke.

If you've been following us for a while, you've probably noticed a lot of Alfa Romeos rolling through here. That's not an accident.

Bristow's is a proud partner of the Northwest Alfa Romeo Club, and honestly it comes down to respect. There's something about these cars and the people who love them that you don't find everywhere.

Take the badge on this one. The Quadrifoglio, the little green four-leaf clover, goes all the way back to 1923. Alfa driver Ugo Sivocci painted it on his car for luck before the Targa Florio and went out and won. The clover stuck as Alfa's good luck charm and eventually became the mark they put on their fastest machines.

Later that same year, Sivocci was killed while testing an Alfa race car at Monza. The car didn't appear to carry the Quadrifoglio, and that fact became part of the legend surrounding the badge. Over time, the white background behind the clover came to be depicted as a triangle rather than a square, often said to symbolize the loss of one of Alfa's original factory drivers. More than a hundred years later, it's still there on the Quadrifoglio sitting in our shop right now.

That's the kind of history you don't get bored of. If you love Alfas, this is your crowd. What's your favorite one ever made? Tell us in the comments.

There's a lot of talk right now about AI flipping the job market on its head, and a lot of people are starting to question whether the four year degree and the corporate desk job are really the only way up.

Take a look at Will. Early in his career and already one of the most talented and hardworking techs you'll find. He's proof that there's a real, thriving future for people who want to work with their hands and actually build something. Auto repair isn't a fallback. It's a skilled trade with room to grow, a good future, and a career you can be proud of.

Shops like Bristow's get that, which is why they put real investment into the people coming up behind them. The next generation of techs doesn't get built by accident. It gets built by businesses willing to bet on talent and bring it along.

Do you like seeing local businesses support the careers of the next generation? Tell us in the comments.

Race season is always more exciting when another BMW is getting ready to head back out on track.

Behind every fast lap is a lot of work that most people never see. Careful inspections, thoughtful rebuilding, and making the right decisions now all help create an engine that's ready for the demands of performance driving. We enjoy every step of the process because we know what it means when the helmet goes on and the engine fires up for that first session back.

Helping enthusiasts spend more time driving and less time in the paddock is what it's all about.

Share this with someone who's always looking forward to their next race weekend.

The most legendary race car that never actually raced.

The 1966 Jaguar XJ13 was built for one purpose: to win Le Mans outright and reclaim Jaguar's dominance on the world stage.

It carried a mid-mounted 5.0L V12 engine, the first of its kind in a British racing car, and was widely considered one of the most advanced machines of its era.

But it never saw a single lap of competitive racing. By the time it was completed, the rulebooks had changed and the XJ13 was already obsolete before it ever got its chance.

Only one original was ever built, and the replica sitting in our shop right now is the first of only four ever produced in the entire world.

What do you think would have happened if it raced? Drop your take in the comments.
