Big things are happening behind the scenes at Motorsports CNY.

We’ve officially freed up a new section of our facility that will become a dedicated engine service and rebuild area—giving our team more space and capability to take on the larger, more involved projects we love working on.

The plans include additional lifts, completely updated lighting and ceilings, a remodeled workspace, and dedicated room for engine-out services, complete engine rebuilds, and major mechanical jobs.

Our focus isn’t changing, either.

We’ll continue specializing heavily in the platforms we know best—Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, and Lamborghini, along with select BMW and Mercedes-Benz work. From diagnostics and maintenance to the jobs that require pulling an entire drivetrain apart, the goal is to keep expanding what we can properly handle in-house.

This isn’t just about making the shop bigger. It’s about building a better environment for our technicians, investing in our service capabilities, and continuing to develop the technical side of Motorsports CNY.

And we’re going to bring you along for the process.

Expect more behind-the-scenes content, engine builds, interesting repairs, shop projects, and a look at what a normal day at Motorsports CNY actually looks like.

Stay tuned. We’re just getting started with this space.

We hadn’t even found the car yet—and the customer had already decided he was going with Motorsports CNY.

This 2025 BMW M4 Competition xDrive is the perfect example of what our Vehicle Search Service is really about. The customer came to us through a referral from a previous client looking for the right G-series M car. He was open to an M3 or M4, so we got to work searching for the right combination of condition, mileage, spec, and price.

After spending some time looking, this nearly-new M4 Competition xDrive was the one.

Carbon fiber roof. Carbon interior trim. Red interior. Black wheels. Head-up display. The updated curved display—and, of course, the performance of BMW’s twin-turbocharged inline-six paired with xDrive.

The best part? It was sold before it ever arrived.

Once we secured the car, we had it shipped to Motorsports CNY, inspected it, performed a complimentary oil change, and prepared it for its next trip—to its new owner in Pennsylvania.

He’s already ordered a full set of carbon exterior pieces before the car has even made it home. Safe to say he’s ready for it.

For us, though, the story is bigger than the M4. A referral brought this customer to us, and before we had even located his car, he trusted us enough to say, “I’m going with you guys.”

That’s the kind of business we want to build.

If you know exactly what you want but don’t want to spend weeks searching listings, negotiating, coordinating transportation, and figuring out which car is actually worth buying, let us find it for you.

Tell us the car. Tell us the spec. We’ll start the search.

A “simple” timing job… until the entire 4.2L V8 is sitting on an engine stand.

This Audi S5 4.2 V8 with a manual transmission came to Motorsports CNY needing timing service. On this platform, that’s already a major undertaking—the timing system sits at the rear of the engine and uses a complex arrangement of chains, guides, and tensioners.

But with a car like this, we wanted to go further than simply replacing what was necessary to get it running again.

With the engine already coming out, the decision was made to completely tear down and rebuild the motor. Pistons out. Crankshaft out. Timing system apart. Block cleaned and machined. Every major component inspected and measured before the engine goes back together.

The plan includes:

🔧 New pistons and bearings
🔧 New timing chains, guides and related components
🔧 Full inspection and measurement of the crankshaft
🔧 Replacement of the crankshaft if it doesn’t meet specification
🔧 Machining and cleaning of the engine components
🔧 Complete reassembly from the block up

It’s considerably more work, but this is the kind of project where doing it thoroughly makes sense—especially for a manual V8 S5, a combination from an era of Audi that enthusiasts continue to appreciate.

And you’ll be seeing more projects like this.

Our engine department is slowly undergoing a transformation of its own. We’re remodeling the space and preparing to take on more in-depth engine work and rebuilds here at Motorsports CNY.

Sometimes the proper repair isn’t the quickest one. It’s taking everything apart, measuring what matters, replacing what doesn’t meet the standard, and putting it back together correctly.

Stay tuned for the progress on this S5. There’s a lot more to come.

Something very different rolled through Motorsports CNY this time.

Meet the 2025 Tesla Model 3 Performance. No V8, no turbochargers, no exhaust note… and Jeff admittedly had no idea what half the buttons on the screen did.

But there’s one thing that didn’t need an explanation: this thing is FAST.

The Model 3 Performance brings a completely different approach to performance. Dual-motor all-wheel drive, instant electric torque, a Tesla-claimed 0–60 mph in 2.9 seconds, and an electronically limited 163 mph top speed. The redesigned Performance model also adds adaptive damping, upgraded brakes, 20-inch wheels, dedicated Performance seats, Track Mode V3, and carbon-fiber details—including the rear spoiler.

Inside, almost everything happens through the screen. Even opening the frunk becomes part of the learning experience. Add acceleration settings that go all the way to Insane, and this is about as far removed from the analog cars we normally feature as you can get.

And then Jeff drove it.

Whatever your opinion on EVs, the immediate acceleration is difficult to ignore. There’s no waiting for a transmission to downshift or an engine to build boost. You put your foot down and the car simply goes.

Is Jeff trading the German cars and V8s for a Tesla? Absolutely not. This one was actually purchased for another dealer, and Motorsports CNY still isn’t making the switch to selling EVs.

But cars are about experiencing different engineering, and sometimes the most interesting thing you can drive is something completely outside your comfort zone.

Gas or electric—which are you taking?

Some vehicles are built to follow trends. The 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition was built to go just about anywhere—and has become increasingly special with time.

2014 marked the final model year of the FJ Cruiser in the U.S., and Toyota closed the chapter with the Trail Teams Ultimate Edition. Finished in the unmistakable Heritage Blue, this wasn’t just another appearance package. It was created as a fitting send-off to one of Toyota’s most recognizable modern 4x4s.

Under the hood is Toyota’s proven 4.0L V6, an engine with a reputation for longevity that makes 120,000 miles on this example feel relatively modest. These are vehicles we regularly see continue well beyond 200,000 miles when properly maintained.

But the appeal goes beyond reliability. The Trail Teams Ultimate Edition received hardware intended for actually leaving the pavement, including TRD-tuned suspension with remote-reservoir Bilstein shocks, increased ride height, skid protection, and serious 4WD capability. Add the unique badging and Heritage Blue finish, and you have an FJ that’s immediately recognizable to anyone who knows the platform.

That’s exactly why we brought this one out into the woods. It’s where an FJ Cruiser makes sense.

More than a decade after production ended, the FJ has developed a following for the same reasons people loved it when it was new: simple, durable engineering, unmistakable styling, and legitimate off-road capability.

And when you find the right year, edition, color, and condition, you’re looking at something much more interesting than just another used SUV.

Would you keep an FJ like this clean, or put it straight onto the trails?

Some cars make sense on paper. Others make you stop in your tracks.

This Mazda MX-5 Miata RF was one of those cars. Before we even looked at the specs, the color sold us. It’s one of those finishes that changes with the light and stands out without trying too hard—a color you simply don’t see every day.

The RF (Retractable Fastback) is what really sets this Miata apart. Unlike a traditional soft top, the power retractable hardtop preserves the car’s iconic silhouette, giving it a profile that’s closer to a Porsche Targa than a conventional convertible. Open when you want it, coupe-like when you don’t.

But the Miata has always been about more than looks.

With its lightweight chassis, near-perfect weight distribution, rear-wheel drive, and 6-speed manual transmission, the MX-5 has earned its reputation as one of the best driver’s cars ever built. It isn’t about overwhelming horsepower—it’s about balance, precision, and making every corner feel rewarding. There’s a reason these cars are a favorite at road courses around the world and one of the best platforms for learning performance driving.

What happened after we listed it didn’t surprise us.

It sold within a week—not to a retail customer, but to another dealer who recognized exactly what it was. They paid our asking price without hesitation.

We believe the right spec always finds the right buyer. Sometimes that’s an enthusiast. Sometimes it’s another dealer who knows quality when they see it.

Either way, we’ll keep finding cars that deserve a spot in someone’s garage.

Some cars don’t need horsepower to tell a story. Sometimes, it’s the history, the condition, and the rarity that make them truly special.

This 1997 Chevrolet Corvette C5 arrived with just 13,000 original miles, a 6-speed manual transmission, and nearly three decades of careful ownership. Garage kept from day one, rust-free underneath, meticulously maintained, and even accompanied by its original car cover—it’s the kind of example collectors spend years trying to find.

Beyond the mileage, this Corvette was exceptionally equipped with selectable sport suspension, allowing the driver to switch between touring and performance-focused damping. Combined with the removable targa roof, it offers a driving experience that’s engaging, analog, and uniquely American.

One of our favorite details? The pop-up headlights. They’re a reminder of an era when sports cars had personality built into every design choice. It’s a feature you simply don’t see anymore.

One of the best parts of this industry is that there’s always something new to appreciate. Whether it’s German engineering, American muscle, or Japanese icons, every platform has its own character, history, and loyal following. That’s what keeps the passion alive.

Exceptional cars rarely stay available for long. This Corvette was sold in less than a week—not even to a retail customer, but to another dealer who immediately recognized how special this example was and purchased it at full asking price.

That’s what happens when the right car comes along.

If you’re looking for a collector-quality vehicle or want us to source something equally special, we’d love to help.

Most people worry about getting ripped off when they bring their car to a repair shop.

What most people don’t realize is… it happens to repair shops too.

We trusted someone who claimed they could handle a specialized engine job. Halfway through, they admitted they couldn’t finish it. Our team stepped in, rebuilt the engine, and got everything running correctly.

Then came the invoice.

$14,000.

That experience reinforced something we’ve always believed: honesty and transparency matter more than anything. We don’t make up numbers. We use book labor, communicate every step of the process, and if something changes, you’ll hear it from us before it shows up on your invoice.

Trust isn’t something you say: it’s something you earn, one repair at a time.

Have you ever had a repair estimate that made you do a double take? Tell us about it below. ⬇️

This BMW M440i xDrive came in for a client who understood that a great car isn’t always about the highest price tag.

Sometimes it’s about finding the right spec.

Powered by a 3.0L turbocharged inline 6 paired with BMW’s xDrive all wheel drive system, the M440i delivers strong performance while staying comfortable enough for everyday driving.
What made this one stand out was the options. From the interior configuration to the technology and appearance packages, it was equipped with many of the features buyers look for when searching for the right M440i. The details added up to create a car that feels a step above the average example.

At Motorsports CNY, we spend time finding the right spec and condition for each client because the best vehicle isn’t always the most expensive one. Sometimes it’s the one that’s optioned exactly the way you want it.

Have a certain spec in mind? Let’s talk.

This yellow BMW M3 might have a few people thinking of a certain electric Pokémon...

Jokes aside, the M3 has earned its reputation. Aggressive styling, sharp handling, and performance that makes it one of the most recognizable sport sedans on the road.

Around the shop, some cars spark conversations about specs. Others spark debates about what cartoon character they look like.

We’ll let you decide on this one.

Have a certain spec in mind? Let’s talk.
