🔧 IN THE SHOP: Solving Low Fuel Pressure on a Cummins ISX! 🚛
We currently have a 2006 International on the floor powered by a Cummins ISX engine. We are in the process of repairing and resealing the fuel filter base right now to clear up some major performance issues.
This truck came to us suffering from low fuel pressure and a noticeable drop in power. When we got under the hood, we found the culprit: a badly leaking fuel filter housing base and a failing fuel filter.
For our truck community out there, here is exactly why a leak like this ruins your engine's performance—and why we are getting it sealed up:
• Restores Lost Fuel Pressure: A leaking filter base bleeds off the precise pressure your injection system needs. Resealing the housing locks that pressure back in.
• Stops Air Intrusion: Where fuel leaks out, air gets sucked in. Air bubbles in your diesel system cause immediate sputtering, hesitation, and a painful loss of horsepower.
• Improves Fuel Economy: When fuel pressure drops, your engine computer tries to overcompensate. A properly sealed system ensures a clean, efficient burn and better MPG.
• Saves High-Dollar Injection Parts: Running a Cummins ISX with low fuel pressure puts massive stress on your fuel pump and injectors. Catching a filter housing leak early saves thousands in catastrophic failures down the road.
We’re getting this base fully cleaned, resealed, and fitted with a fresh filter to get this rig back to pulling at full strength!
Is your heavy-duty truck feeling sluggish or dropping fuel? Catch it before it turns into a road call. Bring it by the shop and let us get you dialed back in! 💪
