Remembering Demetrius “Dee” Holmes
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our friend and coworker, Demetrius “Dee” Holmes, who passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 23rd at the young age of 41.
Dee was a valued member of the Ron’s team for four years. In those four years, he became much more than a coworker to us—he became someone we were proud to have on our team and someone we genuinely cared about.
Dee was kind, smart, funny, and genuine. He knew his way around cars and was always willing to put that knowledge to work. He was a hard worker who liked to stay busy, always willing to jump in and help wherever he was needed. He was a true team player, and his presence made our workplace better.
Dee had shared that working at Ron’s was one of the best jobs he had ever had. We hope he knew that having him here was just as meaningful to us.
We are deeply saddened by Dee’s passing. It has only been a few days, but we already feel the emptiness he left behind. It’s hard not seeing him at his post, not hearing his familiar “good mornings,” or hearing his goodbyes in the afternoon. Those little everyday moments are the things we realize we will miss the most.
We will remember Dee for all of the qualities he brought to our team—his kindness, his humor, his hard work, his knowledge, his laughter, and most of all, for simply being unapologetically himself.
And, of course, we have to end this the way Dee would have wanted.
Any time Dee asked a question and got the answer he needed, he would simply say:
“Say less.”
And off he would go to get the job done.
So, Dee…
Say less. We’ll take it from here.
You will be deeply missed, never forgotten, and always remembered as part of the Ron’s family.
Rest easy, Dee.
