RETAIL SPACE AVAILABLE IN SWANSBORO!

We have a great opportunity for someone looking to open a small business here in Swansboro!

A retail space has opened up right on Highway 24, located between Pogies Fishing Center and Southside Outfitters and we're hoping to find someone with a great idea who would like to take over the existing lease!

Rent is $1,850 per month, which includes utilities and Wi-Fi!

One of the biggest advantages of this location is the foot traffic generated by the neighboring businesses, especially during our busy season from April through September.

We think this space could be perfect for all kinds of businesses, including:

- A boutique or clothing store
- A "Welcome to Swansboro" gift shop selling local merchandise, mugs, hoodies, souvenirs, etc.
- An offshore fishing tackle and supply store
- A small hunting and outdoor store
- A children's toy store
- A slime bar or creative activity shop
- A tutoring or educational center
- A specialty gift shop
- Or something completely different that we haven't even thought of!

Another unique feature: The space is currently permitted for b**r and w**e sales, including on-site consumption, although those activities are restricted to the hours of 6 PM to 10 PM, subject to applicable permit requirements. New tenant would need to go through this application and permitting process but it just shows us a possibility it can be done there.

We would really love to see another locally owned small business come into this location and add something special to the Swansboro community.

The space is already set up as a retail location, and the pictures give you a good idea of the layout and possibilities. Existing equipment, furnishings, and inventory are not necessarily included.

We have two wet slips available for $2,500 per year, per slip! These are located at our docks closest to Clyde Phillips.

We recommend these slips for bay boats or flat-bottom boats under 25 feet in length.

Each slip includes:

* Access to our boat ramp any day before 8 AM and after 5 PM.
* One vehicle parking space per slip.

Trailers must be stored offsite.

It passed right by our fishing charter today.

We had a blast taking out Horizons East Building Co for a company trip. They hung out on the sand bar, explored bear island, found shark teeth, and got to see some dolphins.

Fishing pier updates in post.

It’s been about three years, but apparently the Swansboro dock thieves are back at it again.
I was going to take Orli fishing last night, so before dinner I set rods and a cast net on the boat at the docks. Life happened, we didn’t end up going, and I forgot to take everything back off the boat. This morning, five rods and the cast net were gone. They weren’t in view of the cameras, so I guess that part is on me too.
A few nights ago, we also had some buckets disappear from the cleaning table. At the time, I chalked it up to staff misplacing them or something along those lines. Now I’m not so sure.

In the past, when we’ve had fishing gear and even kayaks stolen, we’ve been fortunate enough to track down and recover almost all of it. We fully intend to do some digging this time as well, and hopefully we’ll be able to locate this gear and get it back.
With all of that being said, we’re tightening things back up at the pier.

Fishing from the pier is CLOSED Monday through Thursday. We aren’t open for walk-in activities on those days again until May anyway.

Friday through Sunday, if you are fishing from the pier, you MUST have a fishing pass. If you don’t have one, the first time you’ll be warned. The second time, you’ll be trespassed from the property.
The store is open until 6:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday, so please get there before 6 to pick up your pass, or come by the day before.

Also, absolutely NO ALCOHOL is allowed on the pier. We’re tired of coming in in the mornings and picking up Twisted Tea cans, Bootlegger bottles, and other alcohol containers.

I’m sorry to the people who have enjoyed fishing from the pier for free all summer and have been respectful of the property. Overall, we really haven’t had many problems, and the overwhelming majority of people have treated the place well.

Unfortunately, I just don’t have the patience to go through another spell like we dealt with a few years ago. We’ve tried to keep the pier accessible and enjoyable for the community, but that only works when people respect the property and the rules.

Thanks to everyone who has done exactly that, I know who you are, and have some special passes just for yall.
