Little recap from tx2k
We started off the week strong starting with a 6.99 with a low mph. 1st pass in a few months is always a rocky run. I decided to pull the chute between 3-4 and I let out at about 1000ft. 2nd run was my best run of the week with a 6.82@211 this was the only run made with out some technical issues with the truck. The rest of the week started to fall apart. The 3rd run I loaded up a 6.60 tuneup and it made it to 3rd gear before something felt wrong pushing it into 4th. Ran a 6.89 letting off at the 1000ft mark again at this point I started taking stuff apart and I couldnt find anything wrong. So we push up for the next pass and it runs the same 6.89 but with crazy low mph something is seriously wrong. So I start pulling everything apart again and that's when I find the transmission has let go a bearing in between the input shaft and main shaft. I ended up sticking the g-force trans back in and decided to leave the 3:25 rear gear in since it's how we came to tx2k last year. But this wasn't the right move as it makes 1st gear so insanely violent. So for the next 3 passes I try to wrangle a tuneup for this trans. And every pass had a sensor issue causing some very violent wheelies and slamming the nose down issues. I am just ripping my hair out trying to get the truck under control. I had the guys run and grab a new bearing and me and Cory went to work cleaning up all the damaged gear surfaces and pulled the races off and salvaged what we could with the billet case PPG gearset. After changing some preload spacers to give the trans a better chance to live through the next 4 passes for eliminations I decided to stuff the trans back in and send it. I worked off the data I gathered earlier in the week with the PPG gearset and loaded a tuneup I thought would get me to to the finals. During 4th and 5th round qualifying when it was doing the violent wheelies I was also experiencing some serious fueling swings caused by a faulty 02 sensor and a faulty coolant temp sensor. unfortunately the fueling swings had cause #2 cylinder to nip a plug so I did everything in my power to help that cylinder but it was to late. Cranking it over the engine developed a gallop in compression we were down a cylinder going into eliminations. I ended up having a 1st round broke by and I had no good tuneup for the truck as it was hurt and down on a ton of power. i decided to make a 330 hit to try and sort out the clutch and engine with less power it ended up locking the clutch sooner and sent it into a wheelie again. I had to pedal it and let out. 2nd rnd elimination I thankfully got a competition bye and was able to make a okay hit with a little bit looser clutch it made it further. Going into eliminations round 3 I had to get around a absolute killer, 1 of 3 cars to run a 6 all weekend, boosting performance RED DEMON I knew I had to put a tuneup in the truck. I said my goodbyes to my engine as I knew it might be its last pass of the weekend. overall it was a pretty tough week of racing. But we made it all the way to the end and got to collect a little money, idk what the future holds for the truck and racing program but it wont be back for awhile. thank you everyone that supports this program
