It's a new month and check out our pick for this week's a 1971 Karmann Ghia sent in by Jeff McBride! Here's what they had to say about it:

"Here is my 1971 Ghia Coupe. I have owned her since 2012. I believe I am the sixth owner. She was originally bought in the San Francisco area and was in California until 1997. Then the car moved to the east coast to be restored, but was never finished and was sold again.

I purchased her and decided to redo her in 2014. I did a body-off resto with a friend doing the paint and body including shaving some trim and other custom touches in the House of Kolor's Sunrise Pearl paint. While the body work happened I refreshed the pan and mechanical parts and rebuilt the motor with some friends. I tried to stay close to the original lemon yellow color and later added Porsche 944 seats with a complimentary yellow plaid color and refreshed the carpet and interior along the way.

I thoroughly enjoy driving her and she gets lots of attention whenever we take her out."

Check out this quick overview of our tech installing a rear axle assembly onto a Super Beetle! This rear axle assembly connects the output fl**ge on the transmission to the stub axle, which holds the wheel.

In addition to the axle assemblies, he covers the installation of a truss bar kit. A rear truss bar kit is designed to reinforce the rear suspension by triangulating the shock towers and frame horns, reducing movement during acceleration and preventing wheel hop.

Removing stock style VW Hubcaps is a breeze, with the right tools. Sure, a screwdriver can be used to pry the cap off, but it could damage your wheels and their paint, chrome or polished finish. Hub cap clips, pullers or whatever you want to call them insert into the two smalls holes in the edge of the hubcap and then you can use a strong finger, or a tire lever to easily pop off the stock style hubcap.

Check out this amazing 1968 VW Beetle sent in by Dustin Bennett and out pick for this week's here's what Dustin had to say about it.

"My father is the one who restored this beautiful 1968 Beetle with a 1776cc motor. This is the 3rd Beetle I've owned. The last one I had, I thought for sure that it was going to be it. I began to come to terms with the horrible, nightmarish fact that I would have to learn how to drive a modern car, and what a sad time given the low mileage on the motor.

This Bug is very special to me. The paint job is my father's design and he did an unbelievably amazing job with putting this car together. A friend of his had purchased the car and never gotten around to do anything with it. The car had been broken down and was in pieces waiting to be restored. I had almost drove the wheels off my 1972 Super Beetle, being an everyday driver for me for ten plus years. He used whatever parts he could from my Super Beetle to built this car."
