Been a while since I posted. Lot of work to be done out here.
So here's a recent project to enjoy.
2008 Yamaha Dragstar 1100
Starter clutch went out, new installed.
Before that though, turned the motor and found that it didn't spin all the way.
Left side timing was 180 off causing the valves to tap the cylinder at top end. Luckily for us I didn't have to fix the front cylinder timing because that would involve removing the axhaust and the whole right side.
Found a broke gear spring internally so repaired that and then replaced the starter clutch.
Repaired the pinched neutral safety switch wire causing them to have to pull the clutch to start.
Bike is now alive!!!!
Front fork seals cleaned and rebuilt.
Swapped the seat bolts that were mismatched and missing with the extra bolts that came with the stater clutch, bonus there.
Ran the charging wire to make it usable without removing a panel.
And of course, most importantly gave her a nice pressure wash and a bath.
After a nice test drive, this old girl will still hit 100 without any issues.
Always good to have a happy owner on return.
Hope you enjoyed the read.
