There was more than a ribbon cutting today at the new Kari Toyota in Superior.
Toyota representatives also presented the Chris and Amy Kari with a genuine Japanese Katana sword, continuing a unique Toyota tradition associated with the opening of a major new dealership or significant expansion.
The Katana is known for the extraordinary craftsmanship and precision required to make it. It also carries a centuries-old Japanese tradition of strength, honor and integrity.
Those qualities are behind Toyota's dealership tradition. The sword symbolizes quality and craftsmanship, along with the trust and long-term partnership between
Toyota and the local dealer receiving it.
And you can't buy one.
It is presented by Toyota to recognize a dealership's significant investment in its facilities, its customers and its community.
That makes today's presentation especially meaningful for the Kari family.
Their automotive story in Superior began 93 years ago with Kari Garage, followed by the Studebaker years and then Toyota beginning in the 1960s.
For decades, the family dreamed of building an entirely new dealership. Today, they cut the ribbon on it.
And now a Japanese Katana will be displayed inside, representing Toyota's tradition while becoming part of the Kari family's own 93-year tradition in Superior.
