NEW ARRIVAL: 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500KR Fastback

Offered here is an exceptionally original 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500KR “King of the Road” Fastback, a car that doesn’t just represent the height of the muscle car era—it helped define it. With just 14,652 documented original miles, this example stands among the most authentic and best-preserved survivors in existence, retaining the character, integrity, and presence that restorations can only attempt to replicate. Introduced mid-year in April 1968, the GT500KR was the ultimate expression of Shelby performance, a one-year, top-tier model that elevated power, exclusivity, and prestige at the peak of the American horsepower wars. At its heart is the legendary 428 Cobra Jet V8, a 7.0-liter powerhouse featuring high-compression design, improved airflow, and a Holley 4-barrel carburetor. While conservatively rated at 335 horsepower and 440 lb-ft of torque, these engines are widely known to produce well over 400 horsepower in reality, delivering blistering performance for the era, including 0–60 mph times around 6 seconds and quarter-mile runs in the 14-second range, firmly placing the KR among the fastest production cars of its time. The “KR,” or King of the Road, was more than a name—it was a statement. In a now-famous move, Carroll Shelby secured the KR designation ahead of Chevrolet, who had been developing a competing concept, further cementing Shelby’s legacy of outpacing the competition both on the road and in the marketplace.

What truly sets this example apart is its remarkable originality. This is a true unrestored survivor, retaining its original 428 Cobra Jet engine, factory-applied Highland Green Metallic paint, deluxe black interior with vinyl bucket seats, and even its factory smog equipment. The drivetrain components, factory tags, and overall presentation reflect a level of preservation that serious collectors recognize as the benchmark standard. The car exhibits an honest, well-preserved patina that only time can create, reinforcing its status as a reference-grade example. Beyond condition, its rarity further enhances its desirability—one of just 1,053 GT500KR Fastbacks produced, one of 520 finished in Highland Green, and one of an even smaller subset equipped with this exact combination of color, trim, and options. Built late in the production run on June 5, 1968, it represents one of the final examples of the KR fastback, adding an additional layer of significance...

NEW ARRIVAL: 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 - CSX2439

Offered for sale is CSX 2439, an authentic, factory-built 1965 Shelby Cobra 289 produced by Shelby American during the final and most refined phase of original 289 Cobra production. This is a true period Cobra, built in the 1960s as part of Shelby American’s original production run, and not a continuation, recreation, or tribute. Importantly, the car retains its original, factory-installed, matching-numbers drivetrain, a distinction that places it among a very small and highly desirable group of surviving Cobras.

The CSX chassis sequence traces its roots directly back to CSX 2000, the first Shelby Cobra and the car that launched Carroll Shelby’s vision of combining a lightweight British chassis with American V-8 power. The 289-powered Cobra became the purest and most successful expression of that idea, forming the foundation of Shelby American’s early international racing achievements. CSX 2439 sits squarely within this original lineage and represents the fully matured ex*****on of the Cobra concept.

By 1965, the 289 Cobra platform had benefited from years of development, competition experience, and continuous refinement. Late-production examples such as CSX 2439 feature fully developed chassis geometry, proven and durable drivetrain combinations, improved cooling and braking systems, and a level of build consistency informed by extensive racing use. As a result, these late 289 Cobras are widely regarded as the most refined and desirable of the original series.

While the later 427 Cobra is often associated with raw horsepower, many enthusiasts and collectors consider the 289 Cobra to be the purist’s Cobra. Its lighter weight, narrower track, and superior balance deliver a more agile, communicative driving experience that remains unmatched. With an approximate curb weight of just 2,000 pounds and an exceptional power-to-weight ratio, the 289 Cobra offers precise steering, predictable handling, and a closer adherence to Carroll Shelby’s original design intent. CSX 2439 exemplifies these qualities, delivering the balanced and visceral performance that defined the Cobra’s reputation…

NEW ARRIVAL: 1969 Ford Boss 429 Mustang

One-Owner, All Matching Numbers, First-Time Public Offering!

Unbelievably rare, fully documented, and offered to the public for the very first time. This one-owner California Boss 429 is entirely matching numbers, factory-original, and officially listed in the Boss 429 Registry.

Offered here is an extraordinary 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 — an untouched California original, meticulously maintained, and historically significant. This car has never been publicly offered before. Purchased directly from its original owner in Southern California earlier this summer, it has remained in the same hands from new until now. Its full 56-year life has been spent in Southern California, making it an unbroken black plate California car from day one.

Special-ordered and delivered through Culver City Ford, this Boss 429 is a documented one-of-one in its delivery history — the only Royal Maroon Boss 429 ever sold through that dealership. Accompanied by an exceptional archive of original documentation, this car remains a pristine example of Ford’s legendary homologation program.

The Boss 429 was Ford’s bold response to NASCAR’s horsepower wars in the late 1960s. To qualify the massive 429ci semi-hemi V8 for competition, Ford had to produce at least 500 street cars — giving birth to one of the most exotic muscle cars ever made.

Because the engine could not fit a standard Mustang assembly line, Kar Kraft hand-built each chassis with relocated front shock towers, reinforced frame rails, and suspension modifications, making every Boss 429 a true hand-crafted homologation special…
