This turned into a real head scratcher. Ultimately I opted to cut my losses.
I got a great deal on a Detroit EZ Locker on Ebay. It was brand new twenty years ago. Never used. It was a decision based on only two reasons. It was cheap and I wouldn't have to peel my Detroit Locker sticker off 😆
After I pulled it out the second time I decided that it was not going back in. It would not function correctly. After studying the troubleshooting info and shimming it to exact specs +/- .001" it still did not function properly. I replaced it and I wouldn't give this thing away. Maybe to someone that I don't like 🙃 .
I replaced it with a full case Detroit Locker original Tractech No-Spin unit. New old stock from February 1987. It works perfectly and I get to keep my sticker.

Tomyworx just transformed this 2024 392 Rubicon from capable to unstoppable. Clayton suspension, Falcon shocks, Rock Jock steering, Method beadlocks and 40" Nittos. No need to regear as this came with 4.56 gears and a plethora of ponies and torques. Our new favorite!

Just got a shipment of Tom Wood's driveshafts. Getting ready to make a couple people real happy. These are my favorites. 20 years and never an issue. I've seen other brands with pattern problems. Tom Wood's is the superior choice.

Christmas has dictated a new look for this 06 Mazda 6. New wheels and a lower altitude. Whistler 17x9 wheels and Manzo 2" drop springs. We had to break out the fender roller to minimize rear tire to fender contact. Someone has a new found love for their car.

This meticulously restored 1986 CJ7 is moving twelve years into the future. After suffering it's third failure the 258 is being removed permanently. In its place we're installing a 1998 4.0l and using a Hesco damper kit for crankshaft position sensor placement. We're retaining the 5 speed manual. For something different we chose Detroit Diesel Alpine Green paint.
