DnT Fishing Report – 5/18 🎣🌊🌈
Had a great group of guys from Leesburg, FL onboard today for a sporty 3/4 day trip! First thing in the morning we were greeted with a beautiful rainbow… always a good sign before heading offshore.
Weather had a little attitude today, but we made it happen. Ran SE of the inlet and started in 180’ of water. As soon as the lines hit the water… BAM… first strike, but he got away. While dodging storms and watching a massive waterspout offshore, we kept pushing.
Started trolling offshore and found the mahi! Worked the 180’–280’ range picking away at mahi and boxed a nice blackfin tuna.
The current carried us north inside Push Button Hill and then the real show started… Mr. Sailfish came crashing the teaser! Switched him off perfectly to the flatline — FISH ON! Nice fight and released him boatside.
Kept trolling inshore and then BAM… another sailfish smoked the right flat. Another great fight and another healthy release at the boat!
Had one more sail come up on the left teaser but couldn’t get him to switch off. Ended the day with a bonito to top things off.
Mahi, blackfin tuna, multiple sailfish bites, storms, waterspouts, and a rainbow to start the day… doesn’t get much better than that. Dinner AND a show today! 🔥🐟⚡️🌈
