Day 4 of the Cracker Tour and we’re heading home. Larry and I left the group to follow the Buick (with Don and John) just to make sure the paper clip kept doing its job. A light drizzle kept us company most of the way to Okeechobee, which was okay because it kept the love bugs away. Ran onto the bugs in Okeechobee but not as bad as Thursday. Home safe and sound in time for lunch just as the rest of the group was stopping at Roland Martins in Clewiston for lunch.
This was our view the whole way home.

Day 3 of the 2026 Cracker Tour found us at the Military Heritage Museum in Punta Gorda. A must see if your a Military history buff. Lots of displays and even flight simulators and virtual reality. The docents are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. There’s even a video target practice gun range where I smoked Larry!

Update on the Buick. Thru the magic of technology, a genius named Preston was able to diagnose the issue (with the help of Larry, Don and John) over the telephone. After the placement of a sophisticated piece of equipment (a paper clip), the Wildcat roared to life. Immediately decided to drive straight back to the hotel and hit the pool (and the bar) early. Stay tuned for more updates.

Day two lunch at Yoder Amish Restaurant. If you come here, be prepared for the generous portions of delicious food but save room for the amazing homemade pies.
After lunch, the crew spent some time trying to resurrect the Buick which, apparently, decided it was done for the day in the parking lot.

Day two of the Cracker Tour found us at the Sarasota Toy Museum. Amazing collections dating back to the early 1900’s up until the present. They also sell toys and comic books.

A group of us headed out to Okeechobee to meet up with the rest of the gang for our annual Cracker Tour today. When I tell you the love bugs were bad, they were worse than I’ve seen them in years! We headed out west to North Port, stopping several times to clean windshields. Lunch in Ortona then off to the hotel. Spent some time cleaning cars before hitting the pool at the hotel. Next up, dinner at the Twisted Fork.
