Who doesn't love an original Teal Metallic 93 Cobra. It has become an iconic look for the Fox Body era. Nick Bournais from Long Island, NY has #1958 and it needed a Restoration and update.
He connected with MCM Motorsports Restoration and Performance to bring his Teal Cobra back to life and give it a "GT3" inspired treatment. A rotisserie restoration was put in motion where all the years of oxidation and wear were addressed. The Cobra was completely stripped down to the bones to create what you see here.
For power the original Windsor 302 was put aside and an Adam Humm built Gen 2 Coyote that is topped with a Predator Supercharger with some help from VMP Performance products. For the Accessory drive They chose the PBH Speed Drive to add power steering. A Hanlon Motorsports T56 Magnum backs the hard breathing Coyote that makes itself heard through its American Racing Headers coyote swap headers and Bassani IRS Cobra Cat Back.
We mentioned the IRS so you would expect to see an 99-04 take out, but MCM went with the latest from Ridetech suspension. They offer an all new rear IRS for the Fox Chassis crowd which is a complete drop in using the latest center section from the S550 variants. The front suspension is a Maximum Motorsports Kmember holding the Coyote in place and the Ridetech SLA(Short/Long Arm) front suspension bolted right to it.
A majority of the work was performed in a 2 car garage with a two post lift only being utilized to remove the oem engine at the beginning of the project. JTs Collision and Repair laid down the fresh Teal once the complete chassis was media blasted, rust repairs completed, epoxied, and primed. The complete assembly and modifications were completed like most of us, in the confines of a home garage. A testament to what is possible in our homesteads.
We want to thank Nick and the team at MCM Motorsports Restoration and PerformanceMCM Motorsports Restoration and Performance for choosing PBH for their Coyote Swap Solutions. This build came out very nice and we hope to see it soon.
