See that brown foam?

That's a visual indicator your tire is still dirty.

A lot of people were surprised by how many times scrubbed this tire clean. Is he crazy?

No. Just thorough.

The fact is, if you are still seeing brown running through your tire cleaner foam, your tire is still dirty. Don't stop there. Rinse the tire, rinse your brush, re-apply some cleaner and get back to work.

Best Practices for Car Wash Frequency (save this 👇)

How often you wash your car is based on how often you drive your car. After all, driving your car is how it gets dirty. Choose your regimen based on how often your car is driven.

📆 Daily Driver: Every 2 Weeks
✅ Cars driven daily should be washed every two weeks at the very least. This helps prevent road film build-up and permanent etch marks from bonded contaminants.

📆 Garage-Kept: As-Needed
✅ If you’re not driving your car regularly, washing too often will inflict micro-scratches called swirl marks. Just wash as-needed, and only use a quick detail spray for dust removal.

‼️ Important Tips
❌ NEVER WASH MORE THAN NECESSARY: Over-washing can cause micro-scratch patterns called “swirl marks” that require polishing to remove. Too much polishing weakens the clear coat and risks failure.
❌ NEVER USE AUTOMATIC WASHES: Even if your car needs a wash ASAP, it’s best to wait until you can hand wash it. Automatic washes use abrasive bristles that scratch paint.

Blast from the Past! Barry was always a GREAT guy to work with! In the pictures attached, Barry is holding a very RARE half gallon jug of Machine Light Cleaner from the early 1900's.

When this picture was taken, I had a nice collection of vintage and rare car wax products in my Autogkeek office.

Since then, I've donated the best of the best items to the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne, Florida.

There's two pictures showing these products in an awesome display case in the main display room at the museum

The only guy that shows you the training cars, (actual cars and cool cars, not demo hoods or test panels), BEFORE the class.

Here's the training cars confirmed so far for the September 19th and 20th detailing class at Dr. Beasley's in Stuart, Florida.

This is a 2-day class that covers MORE topics, (that's why I bring in so many cars, each topic gets it's own set of cars), more tools and more techniques than any other class on planet Earth.

We start EARLY at 7:30am - this means we START with a rotary polisher in your hand. You don't find a comfy chair to sit in while you enjoy a Latte Cappuccino Frape and go through a PowerPoint presentation - you start physically working on the first car.

The first day we cover 3 primary topics and multiple minor topics.

• Rotary Polishers
• Gear-Driven Polishers
• Free Spinning, Random Orbital Polishers
• Wetsanding by hand
• Machine Dry Sanding
• Every car gets ceramic coated
• Topical glass polishing
• Plastic window polishing
• Black plastic trim restoration
• Machine cleaning and dressing
• How to tape-off trim edges, etc.
• Convertible cloth top cleaning and restoration

It's a SUPER busy class. Be sure to wear comfortable work clothes. Please, no flip flops or high heels.

Neglected Mustang here for 's detailing class this weekend in Stuart, Florida.

The paint is trashed - which is great for the students - but the tires are also an absolute mess of browning, grime and general traffic film, too.

Mike thought it would be the perfect demonstration for our new Trim & Tire Coating Kit from the lab of .

This is a new kit for trim and tires that does away with the dressings, dyes and conditioners and replaces them with durable, surface-specific ceramic coatings: Tire Coat Pro and Trim Coat Pro.

Also included (as you see in the video) is our new Foaming Tire Cleanser, which is an absolute beast at dissolving all that grimy brake dust.

Early access for the kit is closing Monday. Head to the link in bio, get signed up for our emails and we'll send over the early access link! $94.99 retail — all accessories included at no additional cost.

Yay? or Nay? Gear-Driven Orbital Polishers?

I put a LOT of emphasis in our classes on how to correctly use gear-driven orbital polishers.

The upside is, ZERO PAD STALLING - no matter what the shape of the body panel or if you go-up-on-edge to buff out thin panels. Speed and power as well as zero pad stalling are the key features.

The downside is the "Walking Effect" some call it PULLING or PULLING EFFECT. That's due to the power. You don't get the pulling or walking-effect with a free spinning, random orbital polisher because while the OCILLATIONI is gear-driven, (be it 8mm or 25mm), the spindle still spins FREELY and instead of pulling you the pad simply slips or stalls out and this makes these types of tools feel very SMOOTH.

What I tell people is this,

The word PULLING starts with the letter "P". So does the word POWER. You can't say that about free spinning, random orbital polishers. You don't feel the pulling because they simply don't have the power.

Another upside to free spinning, random orbital polishers is that they tend to finish out nicer on soft paints and soft plastics. (I buff out a lot of convertible plastic windows, both rigid and flexible).

1: So Yay or Nay? Do you like one over the other?

2: Do you own a gear-driven polisher? If so, which one?

3: Do you own a free spinning, random orbital polisher? If so, which one?

No wrong answers, it's really what works best for you and your style of detailing.

For our classes, we currently have 8 different gear-driven orbital polishers for you to test out when you take any of our Stuart, Florida classes. Next class is September 19th and 20th, if you scroll down my feed you'll see pictures of 4 cool training cars that are already confirmed.

Below are just a smattering of pictures from past classes showing gear-driven orbital polishers in use. No chairs. Zero sitting. 100% hands-on all the time.

Why apply ceramic coating to a museum car like this Canepa-built Porsche 959 in Ruby Redstone?

Because even if it never sees rain, it still needs protection from years of wipe-downs, dusting, fingerprints, and micro-scratching under harsh museum lighting.

The coating helps preserve the correction work, makes maintenance easier, and gives the paint that deep, candy-like gloss that makes the color pop on display.

This is the last 5% that separates “already amazing” from truly dialed in.
