Alex & Regina recently had the opportunity to put the new Dynabrade DB15 15mm Dual Action Polisher through its paces during the 2026 Air Force One Project at the Museum of Flight.

We initially got our hands on the DB15s during the project and quickly fell in love with how well they performed, especially when finishing down the metal surfaces on the historic aircraft. Dynabrade liked our feedback enough to send the machines home with us so we could continue testing them in real-world detailing environments.

After putting them through some serious work, we believe the DB15 is a serious contender in the 15mm dual action polisher category.

The balance, power, and ergonomics really make this machine stand out. We primarily use dual action polishers because we love the finesse, control, technique, and fast results this style of machine allows us to achieve.

After testing the DB15 in the field, these machines have officially earned a spot on our van. We'll continue putting them to work on our clients' vehicles and seeing what they're capable of.

If you're a detailer looking for a new 15mm DA, keep an eye out. The DB15 is expected to be released soon, and we think it's going to be worth paying attention to.

Day 3 of the Motorlux & The Quail project is officially in the books!

Today was another busy one. Alex spent the day at the Broad Arrow Auction, where we performed a ton of rinseless washes and wiped down hundreds of vehicles getting ready to cross the auction block. With so many incredible collector vehicles moving through the auction, our job was to make sure they looked their absolute best when it was time to drive across the stage.

Meanwhile, Regina split off and headed over to The Quail, where she rinseless washed and protected vehicles with P&S Defender that are scheduled to go through the auction at The Quail's Route 66 event tomorrow.

It's been a long day, but we're just getting started!

Tomorrow we'll be back at the Broad Arrow Auction continuing to prepare vehicles while bringing you even more content from The Quail and Route 99.

Stay tuned for what Day 4 has in store. The vehicles we're seeing this week are absolutely incredible!

This Tesla Model Y had a serious encounter with a tree branch—and the tree definitely won the first round.

Alex & Regina performed a deep scratch removal and maintenance wash on this sleek black 2026 Tesla Model Y. Before touching the scratches, we performed a thorough inspection under our paint microscope and discovered that the damage looked much worse than it actually was.

We measured the paint system on the damaged door and surrounding areas and found readings ranging from approximately 2–4 mils with no consistent or natural paint pattern. Because of the inconsistent readings, we were hesitant to sand this OEM paint. Instead, we carefully addressed the damage through controlled compounding and polishing.

The result? We completely removed the scratches from the black paint and refined the finish to a clean, flawless appearance.

Tesla's black paint is notoriously soft, making it very easy for inexperienced detailers to leave behind holograms, buffer trails, and other polishing defects. We see it all the time. Proper technique matters.

The damaged exterior trim was an even bigger challenge. Removing scratches from Tesla trim can be like walking a tightrope, and many detailers won't attempt it. With our client's approval, we carefully worked the trim using a delicate yet effective process and were able to save the original piece—potentially saving our client hundreds of dollars in replacement costs.

This is why proper inspection and experience matter before someone reaches for sandpaper.

Alex & Regina performed a Ceramic Booster Wash and Level 2 Interior Detail on this beautiful white 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport.

This Tacoma recently had plant water and plant debris spill throughout the rear seats and carpet, leaving behind a mess that needed more than a quick wipe-down. We performed a meticulous deep cleaning and carpet extraction to remove the contamination, refresh the upholstery, and eliminate the lingering odors.
