A little before and during on this bedside repair! 🔧

I hear a lot about how time-consuming bodywork can be, especially all the sanding. One thing I’ve learned is that the more time you spend getting the metal straight, the less time you’ll spend working the filler.

Using a marker grid to track the highs and lows and get everything as straight as possible before moving on to filler.

Parts are on National backorder. Only SIX in the entire country. Tracked one down all the way in Arizona over Paid and waited for it to show up… just for it to arrive looking like it got into a wreck on the way here. 😂🤦‍♂️

Sometimes it really takes this much work to get it right.

Metallic basecoat doesn’t hide problems — it highlights them. Once the color went down, we found a few areas that needed more attention.

So back to sanding — all 82 of these little slots, which took the better part of a day — then resealed and ready for color again.

It’s all in the details. 👌

Land Cruiser rust repair update 🔧

Making some serious progress on the Land Cruiser. Once we got into the rusted areas, there was quite a bit more metal that needed attention than what was visible from the outside.

We removed the damaged sections and rebuilt the quarter, wheel opening, inner structure, and lower body with new metal. Everything was fabricated and fitted a section at a time to bring the structure and original shape back.

The inner repairs have now been welded, cleaned up, and protected, and we’re getting closer to closing everything back up and moving into the bodywork stage.

A ton of work goes into these repairs that you’ll never see once it’s finished. Here’s a little look at what’s underneath before it all disappears.

Installed a Torklift EcoHitch on this 2026 Subaru Trailseeker.

This one was a little more involved than your typical hitch install. The rear bumper had to come apart for installation, and the factory hands-free hatch sensors had to be modified and repositioned around the hitch so the foot-activated liftgate still works.

Everything was fitted, tested, and put back together with a clean factory-style finish. 🔧
