The goal of the OSU Difficult Dialogues program is to create safer spaces, particularly in our classrooms and on campus, for the free exchange of ideas, and to become more inclusive of voices and ways of knowing that have been absent, unpopular, excluded. The overall goal is to create safer spaces, particularly in our classrooms and on campus, for the free exchange of ideas, and to become more inc
lusive of voices and ways of knowing that have been absent, unpopular, or excluded. Consistent with the OSU mission that values diversity, inclusion and pluralism, we strive to increase the ethic on campus that differences are acceptable and increase faculty (and student) skills necessary to talk about, understand, and respect varying perspectives, world views and backgrounds. Difficult Dialogue programs are “designed to promote academic freedom and religious, cultural, and political pluralism in U.S. Higher Education.”
