Your Tacoma’s bed just got a hard top that acts smart.

The ARB Ascent Truck Cap locks and unlocks right along with your doors — electronic central locking tied to your factory key fob, plus an auto-lock if you walk away without opening a door. There’s even a hidden push-button release for the side windows, so instead of fumbling for a latch you just press and lift, gas struts holding it open on their own. Up top, a slimline vent pressurizes the whole cab, so dust gets pushed out instead of finding its way in through the tailgate. Add a 770 lb static / 275 lb dynamic rating for racks and gear, tinted 5mm safety glass, and a rear spoiler with integrated LED brake light, and it’s built to disappear into the truck while doing a lot more than it looks like.

Digging through the archives and found these gems from back around 1999! 📸

First up — a classic red Jeep TJ rocking a Trailmaster suspension lift and an IPF light setup, plus that spare tire cover doing double duty. Does anyone else remember running a big CB antenna and constantly hearing it smack off garage doors, tree branches, and low ceilings? 😂 Good times.

And then there’s our OK Auto 4WD & Tire trailer, decked out and ready to roll. This thing put in SERIOUS miles — trail rides, off-road shows, county fairs, races, jamborees… you name it, we hauled it there. That’s Mike, decades ago, standing next to… whatever this is. 😂

Someone took a perfectly reasonable Ford Aerostar minivan and decided it needed monster truck tires, a lift kit that defies physics, and a light bar fit for a UFO. We were at a show together when we stumbled across this absolute unit.

40 years later, we’re still asking the same question: WHY? 🤷‍♂️

Throwing it back to a Moab trip around 2000—when we hit the trails with ARB, Currie Enterprises, a group of engineers from Michigan, and some very early Rubicon prototypes.

Pictured here is the Currie Enterprises Jeep, with none other than Linda Vaughn—“Miss Hurst” and widely known as the First Lady of Motorsports—in the co-pilot seat.
