Drivetrain (engines and transmissions) warranties on kia and hyundai vehicles. The kia and Hyundai vehicles have been and are known for motor issues. When you buy a kia or Hyundai vehicle new, you get a 10 year/ 100,000 miles warranty on the engine and transmission. And both companies seem to honor this warranty well. However, you need to understand, if you buy the car used (you are the second, third, fourth, etc owner), the drive train warranty drops to 5 years of 60,000 miles. Make sure you understand this when purchasing one of these vehicles. And if you are buying a used one and you go the extended warranty route, make sure you get something in writing from the warranty company outlining how they handle Kia/ Hyundai drive train warranties - not all of them will cover it. I saw a vidoe showing a person who lost their engine at 82,000 miles and were convinced that it would be covered under warranty. IT wasn't because they were the second owner. ANd these motors are expensive - in the $11,000 range just for the motor!!! KNow your product before you buy.

Vehicles being recalled for fire risk! I saw a video and then did some research. Turns out that there are over 3.3 MILLION cars out there in the United States that have recalls for fire risk. ALong with the recalls is a warning not to park these affected cars in your garage or near your house or other cars. They can start on fire by themselves while they are not running!!!!! I read some of the details and it is truly amazing that this is happening - AND MOST OF THE CARS IN THESE RECALLS ARE NOT EV OR HYBRIDS (SOME ARE). If you have a recall out for your car you should receive a letter in the mail. However, if you bought used that letter will not find you. Check with your manufacturer on this. This is important. You can go on line and put your vin number into the website of your manufacturer and see if your car has any recalls or you can simply call your dealer and give them the vin number and ask them to let you know what recalls are in effect for your vehicle. There are several sources causing issues from anti lock brake modules, to seat motors to defects in cell manufacturing for the batteries in EV's. Take a few minutes to check this out on your vehicle. These 3.3 milliion cars cover all manufacturers so it is an industry wide issue. I am just mortified by what I read this moring. Please make sure your cars are safe. The individual dealers will fix these issues. We do not work on factory safety recalls - must be done at dealers.

Last week, we had out 19,000th customer walk through the door. Thank you all for your patronage to our business over the last 19 years. April 2027 will be our 20th year so we are slowly coming up to a milestone I never thought we would reach. I appreciate each and every customer who comes to us and trusts us to take care of their vehicle. WE take this responsibility very seriously and we never take our custsomers for granted. 2 things to discuss here, and both could be game changers - not for the good.
1) In novermber of 2021 a provision was stuck into a 2702 infrastructure bill that Biden signed. In it, the NHTSA must enforce a new system into all cars sold in the U S. This is an AI system that will go in every car and you will lose all privacy in your vehicle. It was put in to help keep drunk/ high people from operating a motor vehicle - I think we can all agree this is a good thing. However, it is going way past that. This new system will be taking biometric readings on you while in the car. You will be filmed, your conversations recorded, some say it will test for alcohol through your skin, and there are many other things that this system will do. For instance, the tech will be there to send notice to police if you speed, your fingerprints will ID you if you are a felon, your car can be shut off if you are deemed not fit to drive, and many , many more infrindgements on your privacy. OH and don't forget, you will get adds across your screen based on your converstations in the car. It is a must have in all cars beginning in Sept of 2027, however some models will have it with the initial offerings at the end of the year with the 2027 models. Oh, and you will pay alot more for a car becaue of this. Do your homework on this, but it is real and it is happening. THe other side of this is, this will be brand new technology and there are going to be problems with it. FOrd's CEO has already come out and said that they are having problems finding technicians. NOw you are going to bring in a lot of new problems with these new systems, and they are not going to have the people to fix it. Remember, they are going to have to train a guy in each dealership to fix these new problems and there could be thousands of people with issues with this system. Remember, if it acts up, you may not be able to start the car or the car may shut down on you as you drive. This is going to be a big deal - mark my words

2) The big three auto makers are pushing the congress to put forth a law where only the dealers can hook into your computer. What they are trying to do is FORCE you to go to the dealer for something as simpe as a check engine light. They say it is a way to keep their intellectual rights. So instead of going to your mechanic, who may check this light at no charge for his customer, if this passes you will have to go to the dealer who will charge you $200 just to check it. Of course with no competition, the already highter dealer prices can truly go through the roof. Something like replacing an oxygen sensor which may cost $200 at your mecanic, may now cost $800-1500?????? or more!!! Right now approximately 29% of the public goes to dealerships. This number has been falliing steadily over the past few years (i wonder why). If they put this into law, then that number will at least double.. This is a problem because the wait times at dealerships are weeks at this point, it could go to a month just to check out a check engine light. This is just the greedy dealerships wanting to corner the repair business, even though they say right now they can not find techs to work in their shops. You need to keep an eye on this and write your senators and reps because this will definitly hurt the consumer and it will put small independent shops out of business. The right ro repair act is out there now, and it can protect the consumer and the independent shops from this kind of action. Look it up and tell your reps and senators you want them to support it.

PLease research these items on your own. If you are looking at getting a new car, know what you will be buying. A 2026 model may be a better investment than a new 2027. Remember, the big 3 can afford to bribe the senators and reps to get what they want. But this is "legal" through the lobbying that goes on in washington. Let your people know that you won't be ok with it. THis info is really starting to hit social media, so it is not hard to find info on these 2 items.

Auto ac systems - low on freon
When your car ac system is not working right, sometimes it is because the ac system is low on freon. DO NOT goto the parts store and buy ac pro or ac in a can or the many other brands out there. Take your car to a an auto repair shop to get it fixed correctly. First almost all these products have a stop leak substance . These do not stop leaks 99% of the tiime. ALso, this stop leak substance gets in your system and will cause issues in the future. IT will gum up the compressor the expansion valve even the drier - causing expensive repairs in the future. The other thing is you are dealing with hi pressures in the system which can be dangerous. ALso, the fill gauge on these cans has a wide range, so you WILL NOT get it full to the proper level. This gauge operates by pressure and the pressure of an ac system is based on ambient temp, relative humidity, temp under hood - several factors. You just can not get it right without proper equipment. This is one system of your car that I do not recommend DYI'ers touch. Remember, if you are low on freon, you have a leak in the system. These ac in a can systems are nothing more than band aid - and they may end up costing you more in the long run. LEave the ac work to the professionals

Met with Jason Diaz owner of Mobile Tire Inc. He is a SIenna Resident , was a manager at Discount Tire for 20 years, and is a former Marine. What he is hoping to do is be the tire guy in Sienna. He has a new, state of the art mobile truck that willl come to you to install tires in your driveway. He has everything he needs inside his truck. He also said that he will come check/put air in your tires and inspect them at your home at no charge. I have had 3 customers tell me that they were very happy with his service and he says he can be competitive with Discount Tire prices.

We are now done collecting toys for the 2025 toys for tots campaign. They picked up final load today.
WE were able to send out 465 toys to needy children this year. Thank you to all who helped make this year a successful campaign!

Thank you so much to all of my customers who brought me toys for our annual toy drive for Toys for Tots with the U S Marine Corps. If you have been following, our goal this year was to deliver 350 toys to Toys for Tots. Well, with your generous help, we have blown that number away - we are now at 452 toys! We will be collecting until next Friday the 19th of December. I cant tell you how happy I am that we exceeded our goal. I have said it many times - I have the best bunch of customers that any businessman could have. Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart! Happy holidays to all!

We now have 201 toys crammed in my tiny office. We are 50%to our goal of 400. We will be collecting toys (i will come to you to pick them up) until saturday Dec 20. Any new toy that you can give will help a child. 1 toy matters!
