This 1936 Jensen-Ford is reportedly one of just 30 built and the first of only three left-hand-drive examples, ordered by California industrialist Percy Morgan. Clark Gable reportedly tried to buy Morgan’s black car but was turned down, while Gable later posed with it for press and promotional photos.

It was restored to a high standard with its 221-cubic-inch Ford flathead V8 has since been fitted with Edmunds heads and a dual-carburetor intake.

Throwback Thursday: 1911 Mercedes 28/60HP Phaeton

One of the most powerful and expensive cars of the pre-WWI era, the 28/60 used a 7,240cc T-head four and was one of the first cars to trade chain drive for a shaft. Mercedes-Benz Classic records show this one was delivered new in London in 1913, and it spent 40 years with one family.

It completed the 2,500-mile VMCCA Trans-Continental Reliability Tour in 1997. After a restoration in maroon and black by Robin Onsoien of Early Motors, it went on at least a dozen more tours.

Bristol Engineering, Italian Style.

This 1954 Arnolt-Bristol Deluxe Roadster, chassis 404X/3029, is documented in both Bristol and Arnolt factory records, from its engine's 1952 dyno test at Filton to its 1955 delivery in New York.

Offered in red with a black center stripe over red leather, the Arnolt is fitted with Borrani wheels, overdrive, and an aluminum radiator for enhanced road use.

The First Model J Ever Sold

Duesenberg Model J chassis 2126, engine J-104, was shown at the Model J’s debut at the 1928 New York Auto Salon and became the first Model J sold at retail. ACD Club certified and an AACA National First Prize winner, J-104 has as well been shown at Pebble Beach, and took the Champion’s Choice award at Amelia Island in 2026.

1957 Chevrolet Corvette 'Big Brake Airbox' 🇺🇸

Believed to be one of just 43 "Airbox" Corvettes built, this factory-built race car was delivered new to privateer Pat Mathis in Hawaii, where it earned extensive period racing victories.

The Conductor's Delage

Chassis 38236 is a British-market Delage D8 SS with close-coupled cabriolet coachwork by Fernandez et Darrin. Its early history links it to the household of conductor Sir Thomas Beecham, and from 1952 it belonged to Roy Armstrong-Wilson, who later wrote about it in his memoir, Car of a Lifetime.
