ATTENTION: REPTOID RACING FANS
Reptoid Racing would like to formally announce that the Reptoid Monster Truck and all assets associated with Reptoid (hauler/toter, name, merchandise, all spare parts, etc.) have recently been sold to Michael Harper and his promotion, Monster Truck Wars.
Mark Pedersen began his monster truck career by purchasing the former Hawk/Samson I Tribute truck from Jeff Cook. After many changes and a new identity, today that truck is known as Shredder and serves as our ride truck. Shredder is not included in this sale and remains ours. Shredder gave Mark his first taste of monster trucks but after getting the opportunity to drive Andy Hoffman’s Nitemare as a comparison, he wanted to get into a more modern truck and compete.
Jim Jack’s Reptoid had been sitting dormant for a couple years as he contemplated retirement from the industry and in 2014 Mark was able to acquire all assets to begin his professional career and, thus, the resurrection of the historic Reptoid Monster Truck.
Through much hard work, dedication, and investments, Mark and his Teams over the years were able to take Reptoid to new heights. In 2019 Mark sold that old Reptoid chassis and acquired the much more modern, and industry standard, former Samson chassis from PEI. And the sky was the limit for Team Reptoid from there. Reptoid was now capable of competing with any truck in the industry. New team members came onboard and we set out to announce our presence. 2022 was our breakout year. A year that we wanted to make a statement and come out swinging. We took on a rather large schedule. It was a phenomenal year and we couldn’t be prouder of what we were able to achieve. 2022 proved what we knew in our hearts about the truck but more importantly, the Team. We had a good Team that met every challenge, succeeded, and looked great doing it. Along the way we beat World Champions, we earned a lot of respect from our peers, and an army of fans. We will miss the fans the most. But we are not out of the industry completely. We still have Shredder and intend to build another ride truck.
The timing was right for a sale and the new ownership has promised to not tarnish the brand and continue to build upon the Reptoid legacy. That gives us comfort and we firmly believe that Mike Harper is the guy that can get Reptoid to the next level. Fans were clamoring to see us around the country and we had our limitations with that. All of us on the Team have full-time jobs and Mark’s collision shop requires his full time attention. Mike Harper is the guy that can get Reptoid to the masses and we wish him nothing but success moving forward. Mark and Sydney were asked to potentially fill in on occasion as drivers by Mike and they have accepted. Other teams have inquired about potential spot duty as well so you will see us again.....as a Team!
And with that, we’d be remiss if we didn’t extend our heartfelt thanks to a bunch of people. We at Reptoid Racing would like to thank our families and all crew members, past and present, for helping make Reptoid what it is today. We couldn’t have done it without the hard work and support of both. Thank you to all of our sponsors over the years. Sponsorship is the lifeblood in the monster truck industry. Most importantly, we’d like to thank our fans. THANK YOU! Without our fans, none of this was possible. We love and will miss all of you. But Reptoid lives on. Mike Harper will do great things with Reptoid so, to our fans, please lend him and Monster Truck Wars your support.
In closing, the Reptoid Racing page will ultimately be shifted over to Mike Harper and/or Monster Truck Wars and we will transition back over to the Shredder Motorsports page. That’s where you’ll find us so, please, head over there and give us a “Like” and “Follow” us.
This was a hard decision that was not taken lightly and it was far from easy to make. We are proud of everything we’ve done and achieved with Reptoid. But it was a decision that had to be made. It’s a done deal and, again, we wish Mike and Reptoid all the best.
The Team: Mark Pedersen, Sydney Pedersen, Chris Willhite, Brad Slaton, and Scott Dudley all say THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts! We love you and will miss all of you.
