Remember when a headlight went out and you bought a $20 bulb and changed it in the driveway?
On many newer vehicles, those days are gone.
Modern LED headlights are often a complete sealed assembly. When the LED fails, you may have to replace the entire headlight—and some assemblies can cost $1,500 or more just for the part. 😳
And here’s what surprises most people: on many vehicles, the front bumper has to be removed just to replace the headlight assembly.
Some headlights may also contain modules and electronics that require additional setup or programming after replacement.
So when you see a newer vehicle with those fancy LED headlights, just remember…
