Today Chevron joined 10 other companies to announce our interest in advancing carbon capture and storage (CCS) in the greater Houston region. Calpine, Chevron, Dow, ExxonMobil, INEOS, Linde plc, LyondellBasell, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, NRG Energy Phillips 66 and Valero Energy will begin working together on efforts that could capture and safely store up to 50 million metric tons of CO2 per year by 2030 and about 100 million metric tons by 2040.
