IMPORTANT NOTICE TO BIG OAKS RESORT FAMILY & GUESTS
As many of you know, the power company is continuing its infrastructure improvement project throughout the Resort. We want to provide everyone with the most current information available.
MONDAY UPDATE
The Resort Office will be closed until 1:00 p.m. on Monday while work is being completed in the area.
Additionally, on Monday, the Key West section and all back sections of the Resort will once again experience extended power outages, with work expected to take place from approximately 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
After Monday, power interruptions are expected to be limited to smaller areas of the Resort. We will continue to keep everyone updated to the best of our ability as information is provided to us by the work crews.
During any power disruptions, the Resort Office Building (exception of next Monday morning) will remain available for residents and guests who wish to work, relax, charge devices, or simply enjoy a cool, comfortable environment. The Windjammer will also be available for your use whenever it is not affected by a power interruption.
Food and beverages are permitted in both facilities; however, no food or drinks are allowed in the Chapel area. As always, both buildings will remain smoke-free and vape-free environments.
IMPORTANT โ€“ TEMPORARY RV DUMPING RESTRICTIONS
Until further notice, please refrain from dumping RV holding tanks between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. We ask that all dumping be completed after 6:00 p.m. on those days.
Dumping is permitted at any time on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Please note that the Laundry Facility will be CLOSED this coming Monday.
We sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation as these necessary improvements are completed. The Resort Office will continue to provide updates as we receive additional information from the power company and work crews.
Please share with your friends and neighbors who are not on Facebook. Printed notice is also available in the Resort Office.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Thank you, Big Oaks Family, for your patience and understanding today as we experienced power outages while new electrical lines and utility poles were being installed throughout the resort.
We were informed this afternoon by the power company that work will continue for approximately the next 7โ€“10 days as they complete this important project. The good news is that the most disruptive portion of the work is now behind us. However, over the coming days, power will be temporarily interrupted in various sections of the resort as crews continue their installation and upgrades.
Tomorrow, the power company will be working in the St. Thomas section, so residents in that area should expect power outages lasting a couple of hours at a time. We have also requested that the power company provide us with a schedule of the areas they expect to be working in for the remainder of the week so we can keep everyone informed.
Please understand that this project is a required compliance upgrade being completed by the power company, and Big Oaks has very little input regarding the timing or ex*****on of the work.
During any outages, both the Windjammer and the Resort Office Building will remain open for your use. Whether you need a place to work, charge devices, relax, or simply get out of the heat, you are welcome to utilize these facilities.
We will continue to post updates and information on the Big Oaks page as we receive it.
Thank you again for your continued patience, cooperation, and understanding as these improvements are completed.

Just a reminder the power to the Resort will be shut down Monday morning by 8:00a.m. (weather permitting) to replace electrical lines throughout the Resort

We've been told this should not affect the Resort Office Building and we are trusting this information from the power company to be factual.

Michelle Smith has volunteered to have the Resort Office Building open by 8:00a.m. for those working from home or those who just need a cool place to relax while the power is shut down.

Resort Restrooms and Laundry will be shut down during this time: asking nobody to use any water from our well while the power is down to avoid us having to drain the tank and go into a boil-water situation.

Again, please use no water from our well even if you are equipped with a generator during the power outage.

Those with RV Water tanks should fill their water tanks to pull water from during the power outage.

We are counting on your cooperation, hoping the power will be restored by 1:00p.m.

Thanks!

SO YOU think you're tough because you jumped me? Waited for me to be alone..... on my porch???? ๐Ÿ˜ก I still handled all of you, left a bunch of you on the ground laid out!! You're lucky I don't have any marks on my face. I have some on my arms and neck, so what!!!! I bet you didn't expect me to swing back since it was multiple against one. I might be old but I'm not too old for this!!! Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, I was getting tired of fighting and just wanted to go back in but I kept on swinging and made sure you got yours..All I have to say is, you started this and I finished it.....

I hate Lovebugs!!! Lovebugs are not my friends!!! Lets see who will read this. If you do copy and paste it.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!

05/24/2026

As we gather together this Memorial Day weekend whether here at Big Oaks RV Resort, your homes or summer campgrounds, let us never forget the true meaning behind this important holiday.
Memorial Day is not simply the beginning of summer, a cookout, or a day off. It is a time for our nation to pause and honor the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who gave the ultimate sacrifice so that we may continue to live in freedom.
Because of their courage, we enjoy the simple blessings of life โ€” gathering with family and friends, traveling this beautiful country, worshipping freely, and enjoying the peaceful lifestyle we are so fortunate to share here at Big Oaks.
As flags wave proudly throughout our resort and across America, may we remember those heroes and the families who continue to carry their loss each and every day. Their sacrifice gave us the freedoms we often take for granted.
From our Big Oaks Resort Family to yours, may God bless our fallen heroes, our veterans, those currently serving, and the United States of America. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

So this morning Iโ€™m bidding farewell to my birthday journey and heading back to the U.S. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโœˆ๏ธ

I wish it was simple to pinpoint a particular moment or day where I was most happy, but honestly every step of this journey has been amazing in its own special way.

Traveling solo has been a powerful reminder that even at 71 years old, I can still enjoy traveling, exploring, and embracing new adventures on my own. The fact this has been a month-long experience makes it even more reassuring and rewarding.

While I always hate seeing vacations and retreats come to an end, I truly look forward to getting back to my everyday life with renewed strength, renewed focus, and a grateful heart.
Iโ€™ve shared wonderful moments meeting new friends along the way, while also renewing treasured friendships with my dear friend Ashley in London and my beloved friend Carole and her family in Liverpool. Those moments will stay with me for a very long time.

Most of all, I am so thankful to God for His presence in my life wherever life leads me. Through every mile traveled, every friendship renewed, and every new experience along the way, I have felt His guidance, peace, and blessings.

To God be the glory for the things He has done.

Hereโ€™s to a safe and smooth flight back to the U.S., returning home renewed, refreshed, and thankful for this unforgettable 71st birthday journey. โค๏ธ
