This is a reminder for the SCM ELITE SERIES ANGLERS.

This weekends tournament, that was originally scheduled for Saturday September 12 has been moved to Sunday, September 13.

Times are still set at 6am-2pm, but we will get you out at safe light.

The Sunday Morning Bass Series has extended their tournament to an 8 hour event, you can double up and fish both events.

As of 8am this morning, the current lake elevation is 247.9' above mean sea level.

That equates to 25.2" low and with no measurable rain in sight, the lake will continue to drop.

Although at a much slower rate because the power plant is shutting one reactor down for an outage and by them closing the gates at the damn by 5 CFS (cubic feet per second) every 72 hours. Until they reach the minimum amount allowed to be released at 20 CFS, we have been told.

Please use caution while navigating on the lake, new areas are popping up that wouldn't normally be problematic.

We are still able to launch large boats on our ramps. But keep in mind that for every inch the lake drops, we lose approximately 4-6" of sloped boat ramp.

We have the end of our ramps marked with red paint on the dock posts. We encourage everyone to always walk out on the docks (wherever you launch) when the water is low and look for yourself where the ramp ends.

If you do happen to back off of the ramp, DO NOT panic and put your vehicle in 4wd low range in an attempt to just yank your trailer up the drop and out of the water.

Most time when people do that, the trailer may come right out. The problem is, the axle(s) usually stay in the water.

You can get in the water and with a little help, lift your trailer up while someone slowly pulls forward. Believe it of not, most trailers are pretty neutral buoyant in the water.

If launching a pontoon, tritoon or any other large boat from our ramps, use ramp number 1. This will be the first ramp you come to at our facility.

It is a single wide ramp, but the guys spent the better part of 4 days in the water adding chimney block to the end and eliminating the drop off.

Adding rip rap in the void of the chimney blocks and a layer of rip rap beyond that, you can back in far enough to float your boat off of the trailer.

With the holiday weekend approaching and the forecast being in the 80's Saturday through Monday, the lake will get very busy at times.

We want you to enjoy yourselves while on the water, but please use caution. Attach that engine shut of lanyard (kill switch) to yourself, preferably to the PFD you are wearing.

Remember.... the kill switch and PFD cannot work if you are not wearing it!
