In 1959, Mercedes engineer Béla Barényi helped develop the crumple zone—a design that allows parts of the vehicle to absorb crash energy while helping protect passengers inside.

Here’s the cool part…

Mercedes didn’t aggressively protect the idea to keep it exclusive. They allowed other manufacturers to use the technology because they believed safety should benefit everyone, not just Mercedes drivers.

Today, crumple zones are used across the automotive industry and have helped save countless lives.

That’s pretty incredible if you ask us.

Hot take: The G-Wagon might be the most recognizable Mercedes ever built.

Originally designed as a rugged off-road machine, it's somehow managed to become a luxury SUV, a status symbol, and an off-road legend all at the same time.

And after more than four decades, Mercedes still builds them with the same unmistakable silhouette.

Did you know Mercedes-Benz helped invent one of the most important safety features in automotive history?

In 1978, Mercedes-Benz introduced the first modern Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) in a production vehicle.

Before ABS, slamming on your brakes could lock up the wheels and cause drivers to lose steering control during emergency braking. Mercedes changed that forever.

Today, ABS is standard on virtually every modern vehicle on the road—and it all started with Mercedes engineering pushing safety forward.

Pretty cool that a feature we now take for granted started with the same three-pointed star sitting on the hood of classics and modern AMG monsters alike.

"My back seats to my Ford Explorer stopped working. I could not fold one done to have extra storage in the back and the other one was stuck halfway making it difficult for more storage and not having access to an extra seat. Having these seats not work was a daily frustration with a family of 5. I was recommended to Silver Star by several family members. The first time I took it in Bryce and the team diagnosed the problem and FIXED my seats the same day! The cost for the diagnosis was cheaper than the leading dealership and the fact that they even fixed my seats that same day it was really impressive. A week later my seats had stopped working again. I had joined a carpool and really needed the seats working or at least upright and useable. Kendal at Silver Star was so understanding of my dilemma and got me in right away and made it right. Bryce and Scott worked on it. Unfortunately they suspect there is a deeper issue but took the time to get my seats upright and useable until we can bring the car back to get the seats fixed. They made sure that I was left with a functioning and did this all free of charge!!
They went above and beyond and showed genuine care with my little dilemma.
I trust and highly appreciate Scott and his team and how they do the right thing!!
